kill switch for antitheft

anyone install a kill switch into their vehicle? If so what method. I am looking for something that would keep the electronics live when activated, but disable anyone from starting the car with or without the key fob. i was looking at a system where they replace the starter relay from 41.22 inc which sounds simple. I am not interested in being able to track my car after it is stolen. I think it best to prevent it from being stolen in the the first place. Appreciate any feedback. My vehicle is a 2010 V8 Vantage std trans.

There is a very simple system called a DisCarNect. Unfortunately it needs to go onto the battery post but what it does is keep a small wire connected to retain memories etc but when unscrewed, disconnects the main connection. Should anyone attempt to start it whilst "active", it blows the fuse on the small memory wire, effectively isolating the battery. I have also done similar on cars notorious for killing batteries whilst in storage, by installing a race car type battery isolation switch, with a small 3 amp jump lead and fuse across it. Same principle but an easy DIY.

thanks for this info. the mechanism you suggest looks like a good idea. i would like however, rather than having to screw in the contactor **** each time, have a switch under the dash or behind the seats to quckly reconnect the battery for starting. i am not sure if this is what you were referring to with the race car reference. I suspect i would need to run a heavy battery one to and the other from the isolator switch while keeping the 3amp jump lead active. this would be easy to do if the isolator sw was behind the seats but more difficult to run if under the dash....unless one used a relay? thanks for your comments on this
