Yeah really, this is the first time I hear of a AMR or Velocity twin plate clutch needing to be replaced

Yes that would certainly take some special talent to make happen. I’d be intrigued to hear the story.

Sorry for the delay. I wouldn't call it talent per se. I was driving in the mountains and made a very clumsy shift trying to force a shift from 2nd to 3rd too quickly and managed to pull the shifter end off of the transmission. I did not know that at the time. All I knew was that I was about 60 miles from home and did not have cell service on the mountain and I was stuck in 3rd gear. I was kind of relieved to have a gear at all considering how remote I was. 3rd seemed okay to keep me rolling down the mountain so I foolishly decided to get home through a bit of stop and go L.A. traffic, then instead of calling a tow truck, I got the car to my mechanic that was another 20 miles away. He waited for the car to cool down, popped the cable back on the transmission, charged for 30 minutes of work and sent me home. I am pretty sure that is what caused my AMR clutch (installed about 15,000 miles prior) to "prematurely wear". The clutch felt okay for a few more months but when it started to slip, it went pretty quickly after that. My mechanic was pretty unimpressed with the shape of the clutch when he finally pulled it out:

That said, Kentucky Clutch didn't just fix a "worn" clutch. They fixed THAT clutch above.

Their Kevlar material seems fine. It is not too "grabby" and the clutch feels super-light just like the it did before. I will report back about the wear in 10-20k miles...but that is going to take a while.
