Amazing looking car - one of the few cars I have not ever even sat in but intend to tomorrow at the LA Auto Show.

You've described a lot.... hows the quality of the stereo sound (not that you may listen to music much with the incredible V12 notes the car plays), nav system, and hvac? Seats comfortable? Im actually considering several different cars and will be seriously looking tomorrow!

Did you consider any other vehicles or was this what you knew you wanted?

Congrats again!!!

The stereo is the highest end option they offer (Linn 950w) which I think is very good - lots of power, no distortion. I have yet to experiment with all of the fancy surround sound options and processing technologies but it plays my Tom Petty Greatest Hits CD just fine! The
AM/FM radio reception is terrible. No viable direct-input satellite radio or auxiliary input options exist (due to MOST fiber optic interface) - I would give an arm/leg for an iPod cable..

On the AMOC forums, many people complain about the Linn 950w system - they say it has bugs, turns off all the time, has bad sound quality, etc. I have experienced none of these problems - I think they are all fixed if you have the latest software installed and the FSAs done. The consensus among other owners I've spoken with is that the mid range stereo is also very adequate and it's not worth paying more for the highest end one.

Really, When I'm on the open road - I just wail on the v12 and listen to the exhaust as I shift with the paddles. The transmission is just EXCELLENT.

It has bluetooth phone integration, I have not paired my phone yet so can't comment on how well that works.

The Nav system I have not used in great detail - I think it's a DVD based system out of a Volvo parts bin (that's what my friend told me) - but it seems adequate. It's not as good as my Range Rover one but will do the job when I need it, I'm sure.

HVAC is good - simple to use, blows cold - not as strong as you'd like on a hot day - but the cabin is intimate and cools down pretty quickly so no complaints. My model does not have heated seats.

The only complaint so far is the overly sensitive tire pressure monitoring system. With big temperature swings it always goes on (about 2 or 3 times this week) and tells me I have a 'tire system fault' - then it goes away after a few minutes. I may ask the dealer if there is a way to tune this, but it's a minor annoyance.

I am not versed in the F car V12 front engined world, but I would have thought that the 550's would trade for a lot more than the DB9?

Wait! I just did a search and found a bunch of 14K mile Vanquish's for 125K?

Now I am really confused...

Nice car though, I don't like blue interior, but somehow, AM managed to did it so so elegantly that it's just amazing.

Such an elegant car!

550 Maranello's were made from 1997 - 2001 and prices range from about 95K for a 1997 with 20-30K miles to about 130k for a 2001 with around 10K miles. 575M's are going for $150K - $175K or so.

2005 DB9's are going for anywhere from $125K - $140K depending on miles and color combos.
