Does your DB9 sound system suck?

Sorry if this is a well discussed topic but I am shocked at how bad the mid range Linn system is on my 05 DB9 (I think it's the 950w?). When I first got the car, I took it for service because I thought there was something wrong with the system but they said it was working fine. It has no punch in the low mid or high range. Also, on other systems, I cannot stand the volume even at 2/3rds but at full volume, this system is really not that loud. Have you guys experienced the same thing or something really wrong with my car?

the Linn 950w is the high end of the 3 stereo options that were offered in the 05 DB9. I have that one as well and it is not that great, IMO ...

Check the polarity on the speakers, bring your car to the most reputable audio shop in your area.

Search the Aston Martin Owners Club site www.amoc.org . There has been some discussion about this issue and some advice on setting to make it sound better.

That's odd. I think some of the guys at AMOC.org were calling the Linn the best - something's fishy. Check out that forum and see if you can get a better answer.

If the polarity isnt correct the speakers wont work, and thats something you will notice, especially with the components in the AMs.

oops sorry, not the polarity but the phase for the speakers, whether it's out of phase or not.

Oh, haha. Thats a bit of a difference. If its a Linn setup, they got the phasing correct Im sure, dont know how they could mess that up when its specifically designed for the car.

Yeah, it shouldn't happen with Linn setup, but it can be as simple as electric phase, acoustic phase i have no doubt the Linn has done the homework.

My dealer told me that they are changing the DB9s to the same system in the Vantage (Alpine).

I think the Vantage premium system is a B+.

What were the three different systems?
Would you say then, that one of the other two options presents a better sound?

OK I don't own a DB9 (and probably never will!!! ), but I thought that Aston Martin's top of the line factory system was provided by Bang & Olufsen. If this is true I thought that it would blow anything else away!!!
