RS4 with resonators removed

Decided to have my resonators removed and replaced with straight pipes to see how it sounds, figured if I hated it I was gonna buy exhaust eventually anyways.

Went to a muffler shop and it only cost me $90, so I decided to snap some quick movies with my point and shoot camera (so turn up your sound).

Overall it came out pretty well, its quite a bit louder and it has a nice bassy tone in s-mode. Now you can really tell a difference between s-mode on and off. There is no real drone and its stock quiet if you are maintaining speed. But once you press the pedal more it really wakes up and sounds pretty evil.

I'd love to compare it with other aftermarket exhausts like milltek, magnaflow and gmg.

All of the videos were shot with s-mode on on a warmed up engine.

Very impressive! I really like the sound and for 90 bucks you can't beat it.

i have this exact setup and believe it or not, i'm starting to think it's too loud! the exhaust note has become so much louder over time as the interior of the cans have probably broken in and let me tell you it's loud, especially at 5am backing out the driveway......it does sound incredibly evil though especially under load.

sounds gooood. is it a big difference well driving? I found it quite 'silent' compared to hearing it form the outside

its needs to be WAYYYY louder. that was so quiet! unless it was just due to the video, but it sounded pretty good.

The reason its so quiet is because the videos were done with a point and shoot camera (canon PowerShot SD800 IS).

No CEL's.

After living with it for a week I can foresee a exhaust system in my very near future. Right now the lower revs, and just tooling around town it sounds downright bassy and evil. It's quite nice actually. However once you get on it, it has this fluttery sound that I'm not too wild about.

Sounds real nice and much better than stock. I am taking my S8 next week to have the resonators removed as well.

Be careful, it might not end up sounding like you want. I'm gonna order exhaust as the resonator removal wasn't all that, it sounds too unrefined.

GMG makes a resonator delete cross-over section for the S8.
GMG Racing - Audi Exhausts - GMG Audi S8 WC Sport Center Section
