RS4 vs. S5?

i've read all the magazines and whatnot, but i'm curious to see or read about the real world differences between the two, is the RS that much faster than the S5? is the new chassis of the S5 a better platform, which handles better, more fun to drive?

any videos comparing the two?

thanks

from a short test drive in the S5 i can tell u the chassis of the S5 is indeed superior than the RS4. front end is not so pushy like typical Audi anymore. user friendly power & nice torque in the low rpm. RS4 still pulls little harder but not a lot. RS4 will slowly walk away from S5 but that's about it. S5 was very impressive that's what my thought was.

at both the same price, new s5 vs. slightly used rs4, which do you recommend, either will be modded (suspension, exhaust, downpipes, ecu flash) so would that close the gap between them? is the rs4 engine maxed out N/A wise?

personally i would go for S5 just because it's newer but if u plan to keep it for awhile then a used RS4 will be a better buy in terms of value.

thanks, did you pick a car yet for daily driving? if weather wasn't an issue, i'd get the new m3 for sure. i can't drive the gtr in the snow either. so i'm kind of stuck. i'll be driving a friends rs4 milltek downpipes/catback to see how i like it.

The GTR is AWD, so it should be fine in the weather if that was your concern

If you're gonna buy one, go for the S5. RS4 is outgoing and will be "old" by this time next year. S5 is a newer car with the much nicer and more comfortable A6 interior layout.

The S5 sits on a longer wheelbase, IIRC, and the ride was also smoother, even with a sport package.

I'd say wait for the RS version of the 5 if you want an all-out car like the RS4.

S5 weighs 3900lbs and has 354hp.
RS4 weighs 3850lbs and has 420hp.

RS4 walks all over an S5 bad. RS4 is way superios than an S5. RS4 and M3 are very similar in performance, RS4 won 5 out of 8 mag tests. S5 is a 335i competetor. Here is a quick 0-170mph video of a stock RS4 with 875 Miles and you tell me if you like it

I think the comparison is not "fair". I would wait for the future RS5...but right now, I choose S5. Newer, and more beautiful to me.
