B7 S4 GIAC Vs. APR Vs. Revo software

OK guys, So I am from an area that does not have any ECU dealers near. I am in Atlanta which has all three dealers near. Shipping the ECU off is not an option.

So, tomorrow I will have a chance to see all three chip installers. Which chip should I get. Here is some info about my needs:
1) have a mod friendly dealer so that isn't a problem
2) I have acess to race gas (Unleaded 100 octane)
3) Looking for performance gains, not fuel economy

I have the following mods performance wise:
1) EVO MS V-Flow Intake
2) Milltek Non-resonated exhaust
3) APR downpipes are coming soon (do not mind CEL)

Thanks, Paul

Hey crazy1323 I can speak personally for the REVO software done to my RS4.
This is a download. No "chip" or any sending of any ECU anywhere.
My shop communicates with REVO and hooks up to my RS4 port and downloads the new program.
Then we went out in the car as I drove and followed instructions as what gear and rpm to be and run to redline. The process took 40 minutes.

Correct me if I am wrong, but if you do not have a dealer near by, you have to send the ECU off to a dealer to get the download installed. I have no dealers in my local area, but I am in Atlanta for a couple of days and there are all three dealers here.

How as the Revo Software as far as gains?

Hi Paul. Where are you exactly? Our corporate office is in Buford. We also have a fantastic dealer just up the road from us in Buford as well as our newest dealer in Roswell. Since we do not wish to cannibalize sales from our dealers, my first choice would be to refer you to one of them depending on their convenience to you.

Kinetic Speed Shop
6000 Holiday Rd, Buford, GA. 770-271-1577

Ringtec Atlanta
900 Sun Valley Dr, Roswell GA. 770-998-4930

Both GIAC and APR have great products. However, one aspect they do not offer is tuneabilty. The fuel and timing tables in our software are variable. This means they can be adjusted according to your vehicles unique requirements. On the days you're running 100 Octane, you can advance the timing to the optimal amount and add precisely the right amount of fuel to ensure peak performance. Another nice feature is the adjustable throttle as you can adjust the responsiveness to your personal preference. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Feel free to call us directly. 770-271-4726.

I ended up going to Ringtec in Roswell. It was a great experience. How can I adjust the tables myself? I have the selector.

My total was about $860 with everything, does that seem about right?

Hey Paul. Thanks for the feedback and glad you're happy with the overall experience. Based on your total price, I am thinking you have the 'Select' switch. The select only permits switching between 'Stock' and your performance program. The adjustability is inherent in the programming itself but only the 'Select-Plus' offers end user access to the individual parameters. If this is what you want, take the 'Select' back to Ringtec and ask Paul to exchange it for the 'Select-Plus'. The 'Plus' is a little more money but you'll have much more control over the tuning yourself. Let me know if you need any thing else.

I actually do not mind only being able to switch programs and not being able to change parameters myself so I think I am good.

Thanks alot.

No worries. If the time comes and you add other performance parts, have Ringtec adjust your settings to optimize the return on the newly added components.
