I have a 2009 R8. I know on the 2008 you could not order Carbon Fiber options from the factory. I would be interested to know what other differences there are between the two years. My R8 came in at $141,550 MSRP because I ordered all of the options, including R-Tronic. By the time I put tax and tabs on it the cost was $153,000.

2009s I believe have a full LED strip for their "Eyebrows". Other changes I've read about have been generic second year bug fixes; I've also heard that the center display between the gauge has been changed from the standard red colour. I think the biggest one may be (and correct me if I'm wrong, please) a change from 295 series rears, to 305s.

The LEDs in the headlights are the same. The red in the center screen was on cars that did not have navigation. You get the full-color display if you order nav. The rears are still 295 P Zeros. The Carbon Sigma side blades were temporarily unavailable for order when they ran out of the blades. They did not expect so many to opt for them. They are now available again.

Just wanted to clarify. I have 2 of them sitting in our showroom right now awaiting their owners to get back from vacation.

Kurt,
Is there an official source that would show all the differences between the 2008 version of the R8 and my 2009 version? Is there still a waiting list for R8's? I understand there are more available now. Is this true?

Here is the excerpt we have from the "Changes from 2008 to 2009" pdf

For 2009, there were the following changes:

6 CD Changer, Bluetooth, Homelink were all standard.
New high-gloss wheel option (same style, but full polished finish rather than smoked between the spokes)
Audi Navigation Plus no longer a required option: Now order PND to get navigation
There is still technically a waiting list for the cars, but every now and then you can see a dealer have someone drop off from their deposit. We had an extra one come in that we got on dealer trade from a Houston dealer that I just sold this week. We're lucky to have had 12 delivered since the release of the car last fall. Audi said they would ramp up production, but no official production forecasts were given to us by AoA.

There are three at the two local dealers sitting on the floor. There may still be wait lists in other areas.

My '09 came with 295s on the rear. AOA told me that there will only be 900 2009 R8s made for America. They all have deposits down on them. All cars are selling at MSRP.

R8 tire size

On Tirerack's website I found that the cars come with two different sized rear tires. See website below.
