R8 V10- Take it or pass
I don't know about the R8. But in my S8 the V-10 is a total beast with amazing low end torque. And then it pulls hard all the way to red line. Most incredible motor I've ever experienced.
That looks awesome! Are these special order wheels? I love them. Congrats, and no, I don't think you've pissed anything away. Just think of the guys that paid $170k for the V8 version in early 2008.
The prices will hold at sticker for 8-12 months or so but many individuals that placed orders for V10's will more than likely back out with the economy etc...., I will purchase a R8 V10 once the prices are more realistic. Its interesting because the dealer says that the allocations are limited and that there is a 2 year wait to place an order for a R8 V10 in my area in Virginia. Yet, they contacted me (I purchased a 997TT from the same dealer) to see if I wanted to trade on a silver or a black R8 V10 that was available. I passed because of the sticker price but I was amazed to see that the initial cars were not gone the day they arrived to the showroom. Mine will be Ibis white over black and a 6 speed!!!
i would take the V10. NA engines are more reliable than an aftermarket supercharged one and a V10 screams insanely.
also, the V8 isn`t that much cheaper as it appears. the V10 has a lot of things as standard which are expensive options for the V8 version.
Such as MMI-navigation, magnetic ride dampers, Full LED Headlights, Bang and Olufsen Soundsystem and much much more.

I'm trading in my V8 black/CF for the same in the V10. Quoted $159K, loaded. Only giving me $90K for mine, which has under 2,500 miles. Does feel like pissing away a bit of dough, but ah, temptation...
Why don't you just sell it privately?
By selling it to the dealer I can at least take advantage of the tax credit. Selling it privately I'd have to get at least $110K for it, and there are a few of these for sale down here that won't fetch that.
OUCH! I guess it boils down to what kind of driving you will be doing. Love the R8 (especially in that color combo), but having to ditch the RS is a tough call...
So the President of Audi NA has a V10 R8 and a new RS6? Lucky SOB
