RS3 on the Horizon
Numerous sources say that production for the new RS3 will arrive in dealerships in 2011/2012 and that it will pack 335 BHP.The Audi RS3 will extract its juice from a 2.5-litre 5-cylinder engine, also found in the TT RS model, and the 335 HP and 332 lb-ft of torque will enable the future German hatch to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds and reach maximum speeds of 160 mph.
The Audi RS3 is expected to use a 7-speed dual clutch transmission and some of its main rivals will include the Ford Focus RS500 and the future BMW 1 Series M.

should be a rocket.....now will it ever make it to north America.....i guess us up north have a better chance as the ttrs already is on its way and having the same engine makes that a bit easier.....just worried about the price
too bad they wont put the right transmission in the car because it will be a real winner if they did. Then again they dont offer a manual in an RS5 either which make no sense to me and most other people I Know. The front bumper looks amazing on the car.
new photos and intel:

according to autoexpress, the upcoming RS3
The engine will deliver 350 PS (257 kW / 345 bhp), 10 PS more than that engine's configuration in the TT RS model.
The new RS3 will also come fitted with Audi's 7-speed S tronic double-clutch gearbox and will be limited to just 2,700 units.

Awesome car. This is the car Audi should have built and sold in North America a long time ago. They wouldn't have been able to build enough to keep up with demand...

At its heart, the car is powered by the same turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine found in the TT-RS with 250 kW (340 PS / 335 hp) and 450 Nm (332 lb ft) of torque. It is connected to quattro all-wheel drive and a seven-speed S tronic transmission which enables the 1,575 kg (3,472 lb) RS3 to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (62mph) in 4.6 seconds and hit an electronically limited 250 km/h (155 mph). Impressively, the car has average fuel consumption 9.1 liters per 100 km (25.85 US mpg) and CO2 emissions of 212 g/km.
To ensure stellar handling, Audi engineers installed an aluminum intensive sport suspension with MacPherson struts up front and a four-link setup out back. Furthermore, they added a high performance braking system with ventilated disks that measure 370mm in the front and 310mm at the rear.
Design wise, the RS3 is distinguished by aggressive fascias, an anthracite grille, and carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) fender flares. Other goodies include xenon headlights, a reduced ride height (25mm lower than a stock A3), aerodynamic side skirts, matt aluminum accents, a dual exhaust system, and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin is outfitted with Fine Nappa leather sport seats (with silver contrasting stitching), Piano black (or Aluminum Race) trim, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, and a revised driver information system with a lap timer.
On sale early next year, the RS3 will be priced from €49,900 in Germany.
