New R8 will be out a little after the Cabrera it shares the plateform with the Lambo that is due out late 2014 and they said they want to release the R8 roughly 6+months after the Cabrera. The R8 should debut at the Frankfurt show September 2014 while going on sale a couple months later.

R8 is a nice exotic in that it's definitely exotic looking, but inside is quite comfortable. Loads of headroom. Seats don't recline much because of the engine location (but that's going to be an issue with everything mid-engined)

I would say they're still one of the rarer cars out there, and still garner a hell of a lot of attention for the sheer futuristic look. When you can just about daily drive it, that's pretty excellent. Value holds well too after 2 years. Engine sounds epic.

The new PLUS would be ideal but they're a little out of the $125 range. I would consider an R8 4.2 which is maybe a little underpowered, but the aftermarket options for it are really starting to open up. A simple supercharger (APR has a TVS1740 kit) should give you a 200 hp gain for about $20,000). Super efficient Eaton TVS blower, loads of torque. Fantastic option really. The same engine is in the RS4, and APR recently took a TVSr1740 supercharged RS4 to the dragstrip.

11.15 on pump gas, full interior
10.60 @ 130 on race gas, slicks, seats pulled out and no exhaust

Other than that, there are so many great exotic cars, but not many I'd want to live with. You just sold one of the very few that make that possible, so you might enjoy something similarly useable and comfortable, in the R8.

F430 would be a headache I think. Certainly more exotic and exciting, but I know a couple of 430 owners and it's a different animal to a 911. I'm sure you know this.
