Desperately wanted a 1997 GT3 but was told by the stealer that it was a 2 year wait...so I bought their black/black 2007 RS4 instead. Two different cars, but my logic is drive the RS4 and wait until GT3's start showing up used. The RS4 sounds amazing bone stock, but I think I will put one of these on it asap...

are you talking about 1997 porsche gt3? If so, i dont think they made a gt3 that year which wouldve been a 993 model. any pics of ur rs4?

I did the opposite of you - I went into the dealership to pick up an RS4, but after they made a mockery in their trade offer for my S4, I went across the showroom and bought my 997S.

Congrats on the RS4! That is an awesome car - I keep egging my co-worker on to get one. Black on black is SICK!!!!! Post some pics.

 

I have to go to DC tomorrow so I will not pick it up until Sat. They are detailing in my absence. I will post pix on Sat. I had a 2006 Z06 and although the RS4 is no match in pure speed, the sound (yes, it sounds much better than the Z06), the fit and finish, and (the traction) more than make up for it. I have always loved the S4 platform, but the front heavy feel (S4 anniversary test drive) killed it for me. Not sure how they pulled it off with the RS4, but that feeling is gone and I am very impressed by the overall feel. I think it will be the perfect DD for the OC on ramps and bumper to bumper at the same time. Now I need to find some tuners in SoCal that can help me get it just right (lower, exhaust, chip, etc.). I think the car has a lot more potential in the right hands. I had a chance to play with a 997s in my Z06 and I have to confess, it was very fast and I was surprised it could even hang with that monster. I sold the Z before the roof blew off, it had 7200 miles and the tires were gone...RIP Z06.

 

Welcome aboard! milltek downpipe pipe and cat back is a "MUST" for RS4.

 

I ordered the full set up today. Down pipes, race cats, cat back exhaust without resonators, valved system to the "sport" button, or as I call it "wife mode". That's the only time the flaps will ever be closed is when she's in the car. I get the car on Sat and the Milltek arrives on the 27th! Yeehaa, the neighborhood will never be the same...I will take pictures and try to post (if they let Newbies post pix?) I plan on doing the install myself, in my garage on ramps, should be interesting.

 

there's about a million worse cars to hold you over until you can get your hands on a GT3. Enjoy it!

 

Downpipe on the NA RS4?

 

Zuluracerx, without resonators is the way to go! When I heard this system from my friend's S4, can't even think that V8 sound from a 4 door sedan. You will love it for sure!! Please post pics, videos!!
