Have you tried PBOC classifieds since you are in FL ?. Joe is selling his wife's track car, but she's very gentle on the car, and never drove it that often since he also got her a 9934S as track car. The car really is set up VERY nicely as a DE car that can still be driven on the road. I think he's asking high 40ties

For those of you that are interested in the M3, it really is a pristine car. Joe is a friend of mine, and I would vouch for the car. It was modified by someone else, who never tracked the car, and Joe bought it for his 45-50 year old wife as a track car, who did not really like the car so he bought her a 993 track car. He himself drives a 944Turbo on the track, so the car probably has less then 10 hours of track on it. I would buy it myself if I didn't already have too many cars, and the car is not really a race car, just a perfect DE car.

If you have the nutz... full CF body and a Turbo - only lacks a driver, but the Loti are great for folks who like to tinker.

http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f94/...charged-52984/

1720 lbs and 325 to the crank... around the same power:weight as a new ZR1...

I am considering letting my street legal, daily driveable track car go to a new home soon. It is a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo RS (gutted from the factory and 3115lbs with full tank and spare tire). It is well modified with a mustang dyno confirmed 330hp/330ft track tune. Full koni double adjustable based Zzyzx suspension with Whiteline roll center and bump steer kits. It has 17x9.5" light track wheels with spares for the street and good rubber. The brakes are sorted with 2 piece floating rotors and easy to swap track pads.

This car is 1:30s capable at Mid Ohio as I have done it and last time out there I got the greatest compliment from a 911turbo owning Unlimited TT driver who said after a ride along "this feels just like my race car".

In short it's sorted, ready to rock and good to go. By the way... I have a long torso and have trouble getting into most cars and I can put a fist between my helmet and the roof.

PS- Car has a spare track nose to keep the pretty street one in good shape and can be made into a high downforce piece with a big splitter easily.

Also your choice of wither a light DTM intercooler or big uber Buschur Race FMIC either of which will work, just a personal preference thing as they are 2 of the top 3 ICs available for the Evo.

Drop me a note if your interested. I'm in no hurry as I have a few more days I care to take the car out too but am looking for something else smaller and lighter and easy to trailer.

Something for around 20k with around 20k for modifications and wheels/tires is my price range.
Options as I see it:
1 Subaru STI 04-05 (had one before LOVED it BUT had to buy wifey a mini)
- anyone currently have one and would like to give me some advise?
EVO's need not apply...
2 No Corvette's/American Muscle (don't like the image, NO OFFENSE)
3 944's respectable car but just not for me.
4 E36 M3 (Hard finding a solid car to start with, don't like the styling honestly)
5 Currently have a 997 S AWESOME car to track but to nice to demolish at the track
6 The RS4 4 impressed me beyond belief with grip and grunt at the track which is kind of why I am looking for AWD

ANY SUGGESTIONS

Other Thoughts:
B5 S4 BiTurbo, Audi Quattro, 930 Turbo

Track Experience
4 Auto X
5 DE
1 PBOC
1 NASA
- swapping over to RA888's on CCW's for sure !!!
- Making this a hobby
Any luck? I moved up from an E36 M3 to an E46 M3 and love it. I would split with my E46 M3 for $32k
380mm BBK front and 345mm rear
HRE 19's
full exhaust including headers
lightweight flywheel
bilstein PSS9 coilovers
ground control race sways with adjustable endlinks
Carbon fiber interior
NO SUNROOF! means more helmet room for tall guys.

Since the OP said he was looking to spend $40k I guess that means you'd sell yours for $40k. Please let me know when I can see the car because I'll gladly give you the full $40k for it

You need not be so picky my friend. You seem to be shooting down everything. You need to realize that a dedicated track car as you put it will not come without rattles, squeeks... or something out of place. You say no z06? Why because of the shifter? Because you test drove it on the street and determine that it was not a good fit for the TRACK? You are crazy to rule out the C5 ZO6... plain and simple. You NEED AWD? ok I can't continue... I'm gonna pop
