08 997 TT resale thoughts...

this pricing thread has moderator approval....VSE Chuck

Would like some thoughts on pricing my 2008 Turbo:
6K miles - $138K list
Red/Black
Adaptive Sport Seats with Red backs
Red stitching throughout
Red Belts
Red console
Multi-function steering wheel
Sport Chrono
Differential Lock
Full bumper and full hood clear bra
No mods, no accidents, no paintwork, no track, just a concours car
Not a single crease or wrinkle in the seats...car truly looks like it has never been sat in.
Every piece of documentation from initial order through delivery, i.e. window sticker, sales documents, interior hang tags, stickers, etc.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I bet it looks badass. One question though: is it manual or auto?

You have to keep in mind that Porsche dealers are now offering $10-20K off MSRP on the new 09 cars + reduced financing rates, esp on tiptonics since the PDK version is coming next year.

08 997 Turbo (update - 6spd manual)

Sorry I neglected this important detail - it is manual.

well, if a new one (according to the above post) would be in the low $120's and an 07 would be in the mid 80's, this would probably be somewhere right in the middle....$100k or thereabouts if you really wanted to sell it perhaps?

If this helps:
Manheim
Average 85,000
Low 79000
High 92000

A black with your miles went for 91,000 on the second

I would say asking 100,000 you may sit on it for a while since the 2010 is what everyone wants and the deals the are doing on the 2009. If you wanted to get rid of it I would say 95,000 is your number if you found the perfect customer that just loved the color etc you can get lucky and maybe get 100,000

I only say this since red is but isnt the best color to sell, only because its a Porsche or Ferrari will the red actually bring you some buyers, otherwise its a terrible reseller.

Personally I love red and would love to see a pic of the interior

GL whatever you do!

I've been in the market for an 08 & 09 for the last months or so and just sold my 2007. I would personally price your car right at $95K and to be honest would pay around $92-93k for it. With the all discount you can get off of MSRP + 1.9% interest rates its hard to beat just purchasing a 2009. Also consider the 2010 release will negatively effect the 997.1's even though most of us could care less for the new motor.

Here are some threads that may help you out on pricing:

That maybe more accurate. They have a red blk turbo 08 on ebay (ebay is not a way to price cars) with stitching everywhere auto I think it was BIN for 96k

You should be able to get between $96,000 to $100,000 for it. I have my car for sale right now, a 2008 997 TT 6speed white/blk 4750 miles with an MSRP of $144,015 with TUBI, 360 forged 3 piece wheels, techart springs, techart exhaust tips, short shifter at $105,000 firm. I have had numerous inquiries but nobody has pulled the trigger yet. Anyhow if you decide to sell it good luck with the sale.

the manheim data is accurate, its an 85g car at auction...but to a dealer and a buyer it is more...i bet on trade you are looking at upper 80s, private sale asking 95 and getting low 90s is realistic...spent the last 6 mos researching and finally pulled the trigger on an 08

I think its worth more. He stated that the car is super clean. The seats don't have a single crease, he has full documentation and it also has fairly low miles in the 6k range. This obviously is not an "auction" type car. Low 90's would be someone getting a steal!!

any car is worth what a well informed consumer is willing to pay...then there is the "gotta have it" buyer who is emotional...they will pay more...i am 80% former and 20% latter

Im not trying to argue but 99% of Porsche owners let alone Turbo owners will have a immaculate car at less 10,000 miles. Im sure he is proud of his car but so are the 100 others trying to sell theirs. I think there are some very accurate statements in this thread that can really help this guy out by pricing his car.

List it for 105,000 see what happens, if you aren't desperate hang out if you are than drop it quickly.. Thats how the game goes, right

To move the car now around 85k. Market is VERY VERY soft and tons of these cars sitting around. The reason that the above poster has his car listed at 105k firm with no serious action is because it's priced too high. YMMV

I dont have a car for sale lol

As I said if you want to sit on it list it for 105. Im just giving him me .02 in selling his car for the right price or just playing around and wasting his advertising fee.

I agree a very soft market at the moment. Dont forget Mannheim hasn't seen many lately so the price set with them is somewhat old and is about 5% off.
