Fs: Outstanding '87 carrera coupe

I am offering for sale my dear 1987 Carrera Coupé with 97,000 original miles with all books and all records since I bought it in April, 2007, as well as many receipts all the way back to at least 1991.

The car is in its ORIGINAL PAINT Grand Prix White, G50 transmission, factory spoiler and wing, factory electric sports seats on both sides, has factory option of color coded wheels, option 220 (limited slip differential), a full leather interior in black and saddle (much more beautiful that plain tan or beige). I recenlty put the rear factory 8" color coded Fuchs on the front and bought a pair of new 9" 930 sized alloys and had them color code them to match the others. It has the front fenders rolled to make sure there is clearance for the wider front wheels.

The first thing I wanted to make sure when I bought it is to make it a year round car. Therefore, I spent over $4000 buying and installing the complete system from Griffiths (info at www.griffiths.com) that consists of rearward Kuehl condenser system with blower fan, Kuehl Duehl extra condenser, new receiver drier, stone guard, hi/lo pressure switch, Kuehl evaporator, expansion valve, R134a conversion kit and complete barrier hose set. I live in Florida and Summers here are a killer. I can assure you with no exaggeration that this car gets so cool in the Summers here that I never run it in max but one speed down from max. This is even if the car sits in the Sun at noon for a couple of hours!

Other goodies I have installed are a Fabspeed Maxflo dual exit muffler, Weltmeister tow hooks front/rear, Weltmeister front/rear sway bars, Weltmeister front/rear torsion bars, Biltstein struts and shocks, Zimmerman cross drilled rotors all around, Weltmeister stainless steel braided brake lines, 3M headlight protection film, Alpine CD with iPod integration, Solar Guard tinted windows, new hood shocks, K&N filter, Lloyd floor mats, new engine insulation pad, Weltmeister bump steer kit, Weltmeister valve cover gaskets, Turbo tie rods, new tail lights, silver painted brake calipers, Euro clear turn signals (I will put the originals on at the time of sale and will keep the clear ones), new idle microswitch and recently replaced the wipers with Bosch microblades. The car has Yokohama S.Drive 205/55 16 tires up front bought on 4/4/2009 and still has the 245/45 16 Yokohama AVS ES100 in the rear bought on 9/7/2008 because there is still tread on them and they have been discontinued (therefore I could not buy the same kind for the front earlier this year). I was going to put some S.Drives on the rear if I kept the car in the future, when they need replacing but that hasn't gotten here yet as tires on these cars tend to last twice as long on the front as compared to the rear. I know I am missing a lot of stuff on this car!

At 68k miles I did the following; new clutch, new fuel line that runs inside the engine compartment and that is a $500+ job if a car hasn't had it done, rebuilt calipers, voltage regulator, temp sensor, turn signal switch, new front lip spoiler as the one on it at the time was a little warped (not broken), new DME relay. There are no oil leaks at all and no smoke. Engine is solid and I have serviced it at the required 15k intervals since I bought it. The most recent involved spark plug change too. No valve guide issues here!

As I said, I know I'm missing some stuff but all the above are the main items I wanted to clarify. I bought the car on April, 2007 and have looked after it the way I intended, which was as a keeper! I'd like to deal with someone who appreciates these classic 911s and knows what they're seeing when they see it. Please, PM me only if you're serious about buying. I don't want to haggle back and forth. I have recently stated that the price is $25k or nearest offer but will settle for the best offer around or above $22,500. There aren't many cars of this vintage in its condition. Yes, you can probably get a sub $20k car on autotrader or eBay but it'll cost you a lot to bring it to the condition in which this car was when I bought it to begin with, to which you have to add all that I added to make a reasonable comparison.

Thanks guys!

I'd rather get an offer than post a price. Sorry. Anyone interested can PM me and I'll sell to the first person whose offer I deem reasonable. I'm under the impression that buyers know what is out there and how it may compare to my vehicle so as to make a reasonable offer. Posting too low a price might short change me and posting too high a price might dissuade buyers from even contacting me.

Every seller shares your concerns, but if you want to get bids, go to Ebay. Check out the rules for posting:

-Be sure to post an asking price in your sale thread.

Beautiful!

We have an 88 Cab and anyone who hasn't driven a late 80s aircooled in condition like ours is entirely missing out on one of the purest, most rewarding driving experiences possible.

Huge bump, and good luck with sale on a great looking car.

I know what you mean. It's the main reason why I've put more miles on this car in 2 years than I've put on my 997 Carrera S in almost 4. I am not happy putting it up for sale but...

I decided to put some photos of the car's interior for everyone's assessment. It took me months of looking around for a car like this one and lots of driving, to see what amounted to a bunch of rats, before finding the right one.

Lowered my asking price as of today. $25,000 or nearest offer will do!
