Nice looking Bug.
The interior also looks kinda nice.
Lots of plastic in there. I wonder if it's nice quality plastic of cheap plastic. Makes a lot of difference.

Thanks! FYI, the majority of "plastic" interior trim pieces have been replaced with custom one-off "billet" pieces. (Note: Passenger side brace / grab handle, Cup Holder Trim Rings, Top of Dash Defrost Vents, Electronic Mirror ****, A/C Vents, Shifter Trim ring) and on and on. The A/C Fan "*****" are actually Billet Pieces sourced from a German RSI. Quite literally IMPOSSIBLE to get, and one of the "Holy Grails" of New Beetle mods. Even the plastic 12v plug cover has been replaced with a custom stainless steel billet flashlight!! A large portion of the remaining "plastic" (Center Console, Seats Backs, etc), have been molded, hand sanded, primed and painted), requiring more "man hours" than I care to admit!

Further, the Recaro Racing Seats were custom ordered in Full Black Leather, as well as the custom Full Leather Hand Stitched "Ruf" Steering Wheel (the only Ruf Steering Wheel for a New Beetle in the World!)

Additionally, there are custom one-off "Turbo S" stainless steel door sills, designating this model.

The whole object of the project, was to create a high-quality piece, worthy of being rolled off Ruf's own assembly line. I think we were successful. The car is being offered for sale for less than "HALF" of what we have invested!

Very cool! Just to clarify, the Ruf connection is just the parts you added? In other words, "inspired by", "as Alois would do", etc is just your description? Not sure what cooperation by Ruf means other than they sold you parts.

Ether way, nice car. A expensive Bug for sure if it doesn't have a Ruf vin.

Thanks. In truth, the "Ruf Connection" involved quite a bit more than them just "selling me parts". No, the car doesn't have a Ruf "Vin". As I'm sure you're aware, RUF doesn't modify New Beetles. Thus, the "CONCEPT". The project can best be summed up by the opening line on our website; "WHAT IF.....?"

Having said that, RUF USA's involvement became crucial to the project when it became obvious that certain Ruf parts (Steering Wheel, Grab Bar, Brakes, Exhaust Tip, Custom Six Speed Short Shift Kit), to name just a few, would have to be "custom made" by Ruf for me. There were no parts "in the Ruf parts bin", that would fit my application.

Quite an extensive amount of "custom fabrication" was involved pre-installation on Ruf's part, and certainly during installation on mine. This (Very Costly) work, along with the exclusivity and one-off nature of the project, in my mind, justifies the price. Obviously to a very particular kind of buyer/collector.

Just a "bump" to let folks know we still have the RUF BUG for sale. I did receive an offer from someone who saw the car on this site, but it was a bit less than I was comfortable with. The "asking" price is $59,900.00. Just need someone to come a bit "closer" and they can walk away with a car that's THE ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD!
