I sold my 350z on this forum years ago and now I'm selling this car. I bought this March 09 from another BMW enthusiast. I searched for months for the right car, one that had low milage and had been garage kept.
This email came from the previous owner:
"Hello - I am the 3rd owner. I have had the car since September 2007 and put 28,000miles on it or so as a second "fair weather car." My commute to work is 82mi a day, all highway against traffic so the miles add up fast! This is my 3rd E36 M3 (I also have an '89 E30 M3 project car,) and I am a bit of an M enthusiast. I am an automotive engineer for Honda R&D and I do all my own maintenance so I do not have dealer service records, however I do keep very detailed records of my own which I will pass on to the seller. I purchased it from an M3 enthusiast in Massachusetts who put about 6k a year on the car driving it only in summer and storing it during the winter. He was also very rigorous about service and maintenance and I have all of his records. The car was well take care of and I had high confidence in buying it. The car is still available and is really a fine example. I spent some time finding this car and it is in excellent condition. I have the full CarFAX report on hand... no incidents or accidents."
The LTW rims are in superb shape and have very little road rash. A few nicks here and there. Tires have plenty of tread.
I had the car detailed 2 years ago, the detailer spent the entire day working on the car and it shows. He even posted a thread on the bmwforums about what he did and his approach. I also had the front bumper and nose re-sprayed by the bodyshop that does work for Ferrari of Wash DC. Turned out excellent, I only did this because 15 years of road spray was beginning to show.
Interior is in excellent shape, the drivers seat has minimal wear compared t many others. The passenger seat has even less wear, but there is a small puncture from a screwdriver or something. It's not bad but I want to mention. There is a dent on the hood and fender, see pic. I don't have a polisher but once the scuff is removed it won't be noticeable. I have one amber and one smoked sidemarker, I have the original amber one somewhere.
I have always garaged the car and have never visited the track.
It has the manual, original window sticker (was $43,700) and 2 sets of keys.
Here is what I've replaced or added, my goal was to keep the car comfortable, near stock but with updates, and drivable. Car is very reliable with no known issues.
