Any advice on selling is greatly appreciated

Guys, it’s been some time since I have posted on this forum due to some changes in my life that now dictate I sell my beloved Bentley Continental GT. Of all the vehicles I have owned over the years, none have compare to such a fine vehicle and I wish you all the luck with your Bentleys that I have had with mine.

i have tried posting this car on eBay and CarGurus with little success. Actually no success. Regardless, it is a 2005 with 87,000 miles. It was my daily driver and, outside of a window actuator rebuild, I have had zero problems. I did a few minor upgrades with badging and such and I also added 22” wheels. Everything on the car is as it should be. Is there a better place to list that might get more serious buyers? I am selling for $29,000 which, by all accounts, seems extremely fair. I hate to have to take less but my options are running out.

Thank you in advance.

It's the wheels. Put the stockers on and it will be part of the greater continental market.

Here are some current auction prices.
Your pricing seems to be fair but maintenance is key with these cars.
Sadly you arent selling something common, and the miles are high for a Bentley, so get ready to wait.

Good luck to you!

Hi Roman!

I agree with the wheels comment from Trillypop. Bentley wheels would look a lot better. Also, try to get off the 22s and back to 20s or 19s.

I also agree with Turkish' comment about patience. When I was looking for mine I took close to 9 months. I saw some cars on popular sites still for sale that long.

Try BAT to auction the car. Everything sells there.

All the Best to you!

I agree, find some stock wheels and re shoot the car with high quality photos.

BAT won't take a lot of cars I learned. They wouldn't take my RS7 and it's super rare.

Ive been following BaT since no-one knew it existed.

After their newfound fame, they became ******bags sadly.

Wouldn't count on them to list a 80k mile Bentley.

Just get some donks, wrap it purple and park it in the ghetto with a for sale sign.
Bet you sell it cash, and fast...

PS: I like the wheels

Buyers want stock as much as possible; put on OEM wheels with top name tires. Do you have a complete service history? With that kind of miles (87k), there could be a lot of deferred service (if no receipts) which drives the price down even further.

Why not post it here with a ton of pictures and honest description of what it actually is? Seems like this is a great site for a car like yours. Good luck!

Agree on the oem wheels. I second BAT, i window shop their auctions daily and the comments are huge infotainment. I would think that's by far and away your best bet. Caution that the commenters will go over your photos with the finest toothed of combs. So it takes effort to have a good sale on BAT but they seem to fetch top dollar for cars listed. You could also try consignment at a local higher end car dealer?

I had a 2006 flying spur I sold 2.5 years ago which had almost 70,000 miles. Had the car for sale for a year and finally ended up taking half of what I thought the car was worth. Mine was always garaged, only dealer maintained, and looked better than other gt’s and FS for sale with only 20k miles on it! But the mileage is a big problem for buyers on these cars.
Looking at the current market, I would think you need to be priced a lot closer to $20,000 than $30,000 to get any interest.

Hi Roman

Sage advice here. I want to echo the comments about the wheels. They look nice, but buyers prefer these cars as unmolested as possible. There were at least 5 cars I rejected for nothing more than aftermarket wheels. You might not be able to go backwards at this point, but if you kept the factory wheels (and tires), strongly suggest this route.

Back to BAT, I too watch it daily, if nothing else, just to see what's for sale. In the last 6 months there have probably been 5 or 6 Continental GTs for sale. They all sold and had multiple bidders. I think it is worth a try even if you get rejected, but if they accept, the car probably will sell. You can always try a reserve if you're afraid it will go for nothing.

My car is an absolute blast to own, but I fear the day I want to sell it which might be soon.

Roman,

Doesn't look like you're coming back here. This is my last post.

Just got back from Barrett Jackson Scottsdale. I saw about a dozen Continental GTs up for auction. And, they are selling so hope it is encouraging for you....Right place and time is important.

Here is one example of a 2004 already sold. 67K miles. It went for $44K.
