I have seen a few on the road and know someone who has one, but an Audi dealer told me today that they aren't being delivered until November

It is my understanding that only 300 will be delivered to the US this model year, and not only are all spoken for, but waiting lists are long. Of course, I'm sure there are dealers who will sell there allocated cars to the highest bidder, but then you might as well buy a G.

 

The local dealer I talked to said they expected one to come in for early Sept but that it would be the dealership's demo car. They have a list of people to order but have not idea how many they will be getting or when they'll get them. Not the most helpful.

 

I'm 3rd on the list in Melbourne, Florida and have been on there for at least 6 months. They only took 5 deposits and the first person is suppose to get their's December of this year. They required 5,000 as a deposit which I think kept too many from calling on this store. Mine should be in November 08 if I'm lucky. The Orlando store had over 30 people on their list. Like the other user said you can get one eventually but at this point it woud be paying the dealer over MSRP.

Thats helpful. Anyone have ideas on where to find any not already sold? And are they sold through calendar 08?

If you want one, you will most likely have to find someones barely used one or one someone is trying to flip...

 

according to the dealer I visited, they are only getting 5 for 2008, and they are the 4th or 5th largest dealer in CA. Many dealers are not getting any R8s at all.

Very hard to get; I would imagine you'd have to pay $25K - $50K over sticker to get the car.

Unfortunately, if it's anything like Audis in the past, just wait 2-3 years and they will sell for $50-$75K out the door.

My best guess right now is to try Ebay.
