That is absolutely gorgeous. Will you take my child instead:-) is this the same dimensions as the werks1 design? I only ask because there is a separate width for the 997 non-turbo vs turbo

Guys,
Thanks for the expressed interest.
We will get clarification on this part and the fitment of non widebody cars.
We will provide this information to you once we have this.
Sorry for any mis-representation.

I'm gonna go out on a pretty strong limb here and say that that's either a good knock-off, or an actual Werks1 splitter, most likely the latter.

Either way, what you have pictured won't fit any 997....just a .1 Turbo.

Tom,
Just want to ensure you that you understand that in no way were we claiming that this was a actual Werks1 diffuser, we very clearly stated that this was a GMG product.
We want to remain clear through our representations of what we are selling and appreciate your input in regards to the fitment of the diffuser.
We have not tested this on a 997, we will hold this up today to a standard non widebody 997 and let you know of our findings.

Just as a note to everyone, we spoke to Fabryce@GMG about this product specifically and he did mention that this will fit any 997 including the Turbo car. (which means widebody cars will fit)

We will have more information for you soon.
Thanks for everyone and your expressed interest.

With all due respect Robb...what you have pictured is a Werks1 diffuser, or a copy. See the images here:
http://www.championmotorsport.com/pr...1-997t-dfc.htm

You can also see that the mounting points for a standard 997.1 Carrera, and for the 997.2 are completely different if you check here:
http://www.championmotorsport.com/pr...-997-1-dfc.htm
http://www.championmotorsport.com/pr...-997-2-dfc.htm

I normally would not put up a post like this, but we've spent enormous amounts of time and money to engineer and test our carbon aero products. I can't let it be misrepresented like this. Given that this product came from the mind of one of our engineers, and was repeatedly wind-tunnel tested and changed, I find it extremely hard to believe that another company could just coincidentally develop an identical design.

Either Champion just utilized the same photo for that portion or the mounting holes are the same and have a different spread across the rear of the diffuser. The .1 and .2 differences appear to be mainly up towards the front mounting portion under the engine. Either way, Robb's photos are NOT a Werks1 diffuser as proven by your (Tom's) own links.
Exactly correct. Look at the three links I posted. The 997 Turbo, 997.1 Carrera, and 997.2 Carrera Cars all take a different diffuser. The OP stated that the splitter he posted (which is IDENTICAL to the first link I posted, and is specifically for a 997 Turbo) will fit on ANY 997....which is simply not true.

I stand corrected, Tom, my sincerest apologies. I thought by staring at the "which one of these objects are not the same" part of my kids place mat menu had paid off. The picture above is exactly like the 997.1 TT diffuser in the first link.

I apologize again and will delete the post.

Ok not wanting to get into a pissing match or anything here, just feel as though our simple "for sale" ad has been stripped of everything.

Lets look at the facts, the GMG diffuser that we have here and the first link posted both seem to have the same mounting location (done visually, do not have a Werks1 here to compare completely). On the linked page, it is referring to this diffuser as a Turbo diffuser, which we will not deny is probably the best application for this diffuser.

However, there are parts that are truly application specific, and parts that are not. Just because a part is made for a specific model (ex. Turbo) does not mean that it cannot or will not be adaptable to the other models (C4S, GT3, etc.).

I had walked out into our shop where we currently have a 997.1 C4S, 997.1 GT3, and a 997.2 GT3. Now the diffuser is said to be made for a Turbo and its application specific, but minor modification would be required when mounting to a non-turbo 997. When mounting to a car with stock size tips, the only modification required would be to add two holes to the bottom of the bumper cover where the diffuser hole is. Depending on the exhaust tip size, cutting of the diffuser may be required, we have not tested this.

When we had contacted GMG, and spoke with Fabryce about this product, we had been told that this will indeed work for any 997 Porsche. This is still a true statement, it would just need a minor amount of work depending on model according to our findings.

All I am trying to do here is to let people know that this diffuser will work with the 997 Turbo from what we see. Or if someone has the intentions to put it one another model, it is showing signs of success that it can be done.

Again if anyone has any questions please dont hesitate to email us or PM us.
Thanks for your time and desire to help.

You could have at least salvaged some respect by sacking up and admitting you were wrong instead of coming up with that lousy excuse for trying to dupe people into buying something requiring "minor" modification. After all, we aren't talking about cross referencing old Chevy parts.

Anything can be modified.....what kind of excuse is that? I would be surprised to find anyone on this forum willing to spend in the thousands of dollars to cut and shave a finished piece of carbon fiber...just to patch up the previous holes and I guess paint them like they had smooth carbon fiber and re-clear coat?!?! Never mind the aerodynamic coefficient of friction created or lost by untrained hands on a piece of equipment specifically designed in a wind tunnel at an outrageous cost per hour of research.

What a joke...especially from someone claiming to work for/at a shop with performance and tuning in their advertisement.

Hi Robb,

Truly, I'm sorry to ruin your for sale ad, but it's becoming increasingly clear that you are being lied to, plain and simple. I'm not trying to be mean-spirited or malicious....but I think you'd do the same thing if one of your products was being misrepresented like this.

NOWHERE else has anyone ever posted pictures of a GMG carbon rear diffuser. In fact, GMG does not even have it listed on their own website. Do you find it interesting that GMG has not come to your rescue here with some factual evidence that it is in fact their part? hmmm....

I can tell you with 100% certainty that what you have pictured is absolutely positively a Werks1 diffuser. In fact, it's not even a current model....the carbon weave on the part you have pictured is our 1st generation weave, which is a unique weave that we used to use a few years ago. We've since changed to the more common longer weave. There are so many intricate little details about that diffuser you pictured that I could easily point out.....details that could never happen as a coincidence.
