can u guys tell me what u would do in this senario:

I have an '07 white on black fully optioned s550 mercedes. Sprt pckg, every tech option possible, paid 104k brand new. car has 13000miles on it now

someone offered to swap that for their '06 continental gt, white on black deviated stiching, optioned out with 9000miles. it has some mods like spoiler, chip, wheels, navi with tv (said only avail in europe), car is clean and looks great

he offered it for 20k plus my car... is that a good deal?

 

Are you kidding me? He is asking you for only 20K??? His car is worth about +/- $135-145K assuming it is not a Mulliner so essentially he is giving you $120K for your car. Take it and ask if he has 5 more to swap...LOL

Why wouldn't you do it? The market for the S550 is really soft.

If the car is clean and no accidents, its worth a MINIMUM of $40k than your S-Class. Sorry, but I'm not buying your story.

If you already know what the numbers should be you know the answer to your question. Also, if the guy needs cash then why would he take your car rather than selling out the Bentley outright? Surely someone with a GT isn't in need of just 20K. Anyone can get 20K in a heartbeat.

 

I understand needing the money, but if the person you mention had half a brain, he could go into any Bentley dealer and wholesale the car for $115k all day long. This position puts him $10k ahead of a swap for your S550. Dealers buy cars for cash all the time, so why bother with a car trade if he "needs the money" and can get the cash from a dealer?

the guy approached me... he flips cars to russia, he was looking for my car specific, paint, interior, etc, dealers didnt have, needed it right away so he came up with the deal. However, over the weekend he called me back and said that he got around 35 plus the S that he wanted from a dealer in NJ. In any case if it was meant to be it would have been.
In addition, i thought about it and although the gt is sweet, if i had wanted that i would have bought that when i got the S. the 4doors works for me. Thanks for all ur imput guys.

 

If he send cars to Russia, you should send him my way. Ive got a bunch of client cars he could easily sell there and make good money.

 

I would have done the trade in a heartbeat. Then again, I see s class at every stop light, so I'm probably just sick of em. They are nice though!
