Flying Spur navigation
Flying Spur navigation
I did a search and didn't find anything, so maybe you guys can help.
I've got an 06 Spur and I have never been able to get the street labels to come up on the nav. Now, this is most likely due to me being an imbecile and not knowing what I'm doing.
How do I fix this?

The Flying Spur's (and all Bentley's) navigation sucks; it doesn't display any street names! I hate it, I've tried messing with it and zooming in all the way and the street names still don't show.
Call Bentley, maybe there is some type of software upgrade for the navigation system.

Navigation shortcomings
I believe these vehicles have the same Navigation as the now defunct (north america) VW Phaeton. They share many components other than the nav. Anyway, if the the navi units are the same, the answer is that the Bentley is not capable of displaying street names, although, if you hit the informatoin button it will display your lat and long along with the name of the street you are on. Obviously, that is a pain in the *** and doesn't help you much when you are looking for a particular street. I am a Phaeton owner and was extremely disappointed that my 70,000 car could not perform the simple task that every Acura can, I would be even more pissed if my 150.000 car couldn't. Nevertheless, you own a great auto.

I *LOVE* the Phaeton. The W12 is an amazing car, and save for the coach built interior and front end, is fundamentally identical to my car.
The nav is pretty retarded though. I was thinking of going aftermarket, but then I lose the computer control. DOH.
.
Thanks for the info though.

aftermarket
I thought about going aftermarket as well....wanted to add bluetooth. Gave up as I didn't want to cheese it up. Now facing the same issue with my Porsche. Why can't the Germans offer at least some basic technical items? The Japanese offer more on there basic transportation than we get in our high performance ultra lux vehicles. Oh well, enjoy the vehicle, I will be replacing the phaeton in July...I will miss it, as I have owned nothing that drives as smoothly.
Here's a person who may be able to help.

It's incredible to me that Bentley has such poor Nav and one reason why I am waiting to buy one.
Major problem is that there is no module to make the stock steering wheel controls work with the stereo. DOH!
Bentley definitely dropped the ball on the nav/infotainment system.
It will work with any automotive digital system!

Just a simple AVIC-Z2 setup with nav traffic, XM, ipod, bluetooth, some dynaudio components, screens in the headrests, front and back cameras, factory looking switches and replacing my W3s with some W6v2s
.
I'm easy to please. ;O)
It does allow for an iPod connection but its main pupose is to allow for full by-pass of the factory digital sound systems and will provide either a 2 channel or full 7.1 analog output to separate amps and speakers.
It's full digital w/in the unit but then converts the digital signals to analog output.
You can then keep the OEM head piece but interface it with quality amplifiers and higher grade speaker systems.
This way everything works as it should but you get a vastly improved audio system!
It does not offer an camera systems or output any video. That would be a separate system..
Morel drivers are better than the Dynaudio (and less costly) especially since the Dynaudio products are licensed from Morel! The owner of Morel in Israel is a friend of mine. That's how I know this.
a great navigation system sold by super replicas
Pioneer AVIC-Z1 Navigation System with CD-IB100II iPod Adapter with a 7" touchscreen display, featuring very impressive GPS navigation, outstanding AV system audio controls, and numerous optional modules for iPod connection, Bluetooth, satellite radio, and more. iPod kit charges your iPod while drawing music from its superior Dock we will give you an excellent price for that system.
For more than a year, companies such as Alpine and Clarion have gone a step beyond that simple formula, offering iPod integration kits that connect to AV and navigation system touchscreens - conceivably an ideal way to let users access their iPod music libraries. Pioneer has also released a number of touchscreen car AV and navigation systems in its AVIC series, including the D1 and D2, N1, N2, and N3, with its newest top-of-the-line model Z1 only recently appearing in stores. Like its predecessor screened models, AVIC-Z1 US$2000.
Seven inch screen with a mapping navigation satellite system For more information on the Pioneer system please visit http://www.navigadget.com/index.php/...dapter-review/ Also Super Replicas offers a reversing camera for the Lamborghini
