is it possible to bolt a new style gt wheel up? anybody ever seen this done?

 

need a bit more info,is it 3 spoke you want to put on ? have you got photo of old and new,you can switch steering wheels but have to access steering control module to let car know what type you have fitted.

 

I wondered if this is possible too but are the controls the same on new 3 spoke vs old 4?

New steering wheel with airbag will cost a small fortune no doubt!

 

I recall asking about steering wheel swap to (looks ashamed) get a heated steering wheel for winter. It can be done if you mean same year/production from 4 to more modern looking 3 spoke but yes, you need access to the computers to reprogram things i was told.

 

I am interested as well if this is regarding steering swap below,
but i would imagine the color would be hard to find a match (mine has chocolate color)

Call the dealer as they can find out. Color match is easy btw.

 

Unless the CAN/BUS for the wheel mounted remote controls is completely different, steering wheels are easy to swap. Dying the hide to match is a simple task as well.

 

I was told by the dealer that it is possible. A new wheel, a new hub adapter and a new air bag would be needed. I was told that the price would be greater than $5,000. Since I just had a major service, new front bushings, 4 wheel alignment and a few other items, I figured I just spent enough $$ at the dealer for the day.
