I've heard the engine has to come out to change the O2 sensors. so I'm waiting to see what those in the know on here say as I'm interested for future reference.

Good news indeed.

I think I need to do some more home work and find out what exactly the differences in the models and their model year.

Sunny, get an 06 at the oldest imho. Seems 04 and 05 were a learning curve of sorts. If you get anything 08 or afterwards you should be fine.

That's interesting and good to know. I had the very first Porsche Cayenne Turbos to be produced and they were also a "learning curve" as they were full od small defects.

finally figured this problem out with the help from bentleytech peter. guy is a genius.

first I swapped ecms from both left to right, just to see if it was an ecm problem. it was not.

I did a re-pin of all 4 signal wires of the o2 on the ecm plug because the pins seem to have been probed before and felt loose, so I replaced 4 ecm pins. Bentley dealer has a kit you go to the parts dept and match it up. was easy for me to do this, but for newbie type people it might be scary to open up your ecm harness and solder in 4 new pins.

Still had the problem. I then did a complete 5 wire overlay to the ecm from the o2 sensor. This solved the problem.

I checked continuity between the ecm plug and the o2 plug and it was good, but there must have been a break somewhere in the wire or corrosion on 1 of the wires. I have been driving for 2 weeks and have put lots of mileage on daily driving it with no problem.

So hopefully if anybody has the error do the overlay first.

now I Wonder if I actually replaced the o2 sensor for no reason. I was getting a p2237 and a too slow code, Once I did the o2 sensor I just had the p2237 and the too slow code was gone. Well whats done is done its fixed, at home in the garage

You know that code can be the result of many other things. Are you sure it's the O2 sensor? A simple vacuum leak will throw the same code. If he tested the O2 sensor voltage changes at different RPM's, he should have a data log of that to see if they work or not. I had that code, and just needed to clean the back of my throttle body/butterfly flap and it was fixed. Cost me about a cup of Toluene and took 1 hour. Just a thought.

We changed the bank 2 front cat (right side of motor from the front of the car) without taking out the engine. You need patience and small hands, but it is doable. I posted a thread on the forum about this adventure. I think it was called: bank2 O2 sensor workaround.
