Anybody ever take the side mirrors off?

Nightmare to get the door panels off to acess the bolts for the side Mirrors?
Any tips appreciated

just out of curiosity... what project are you up to?

 

Have to remove the panel and the glass, just had mine off for wrapping

 

dam glass had to come out to get to the bolts for the mirror ?

planning on wrapping.

 

The side mirrors is was on the worst jobs possible on a GT. the bolts that hold it on are a nightmare and getting it back on is no fun either.

 

tempted to leave it on

i have enough nightmares in my life as is, dont need another lol

 

Does anybody have a shop diagram of pulling the door panel off?
Not sure where to start

its very sped up but you tube Bentley Continental GT Supersports Custom Speaker Install - Abt Electronics ... I do know that the window switch comes up and screws are there and a screw is behind door handle has a little cover hiding screw. Btw the window switches pop up pry from rear..

Any tips help like where the hidden screws are before I start trying to pop the panel clips

 

drivers door switches,use a plstic lever and pop them up and you will see a couple of torx screws,you can undo the 8mm nut but it is not necessary,on the underside of door trim there are also two torx screws,then using a plastic lever pop the side retainers,(we use to replace these plastic retainers for each door we did),there are 4 poppers,lift door panel up and it will slide off top ,hold it near door while you unplug the switch panel from the door control module.once this is off you will have an inner panel which holds the module and electric window motor assembly.this panel is held in by about 12 10mm bolts,also there is a lot of wiring conectors to unclip and the ewl as well.

 

I'm taking off the mirror to install a sideview camera. I'm stuck at the last step of removing the actual mirror.

I've basically dismantled the entire door to try to get to the mirror. This car is very difficult to work with. No wonder the maintenance cost is so high...

The most frustrating thing about this car is different sort of harness connectors. It is almost like a puzzle that you have to solve to try to unhook one.

If I had known the difficulty of running a wire from the mirror, I'd opted for a simple front and back camera. I'm to far into the process now to back out...

I finally got my mirror off. The glass doesn't have to be completely removed. I just need to partially remove the front quarter glass.

The most frustrating part is to remove the two electrical plugs near the door lock. You can't see it so you have to use your finger to feel where the lock tab is and use a screw driver to pick it open.

Working on this car raises my frustration level to max because there are so many things should be simple to do but are made difficult due to poor and overly complex design decision.
