Strange Idle / Stranger Fix

Okay something new has popped up on my 05 GT. I sometime get a rough idle when stopped and in (P)ark. If I step on the brake the idle levels out. I swear I am not fibbing!

Now I live in the Valley in California and its been really hot lately but I don't think this has anything to do with this new issue.

Any ideas?

The car is going to Bentley next week for some other issues to be fixed/serviced but I thought I would post an interesting one here.

Thanks!

When was the last major done with coil/spark change? What is Vag-Com showing for errors?

Need to scan with vcds software

I had weird idle issues with my gt. come and go stumbles, only happened sometimes at idle when I'm in traffic or at a light

I did an o2sensor, egt sensor and plugs coils, I have not tested out yet
But I was throwing a code on the dash for egt and o2

BTW, this never happened in the 06 GT yet the 07 GTC did 'stumble' once while stopped and then TRYING to enter a roundabout. It happened only once since getting the 07 GTC three months ago. The throttle was unresponsive to possibly dangerous as it was being completely unpredictable.

Was stopped at roundabout and waited for proper opening in the roadway about a month ago. Once all was clear, gave normal throttle input as have driven this road many times and she stumbled with virtually no PROPER forward motion. So let off the accelerator and tried again and same hiccup/stumbling. Thus braked as the car had now 'crawled' a bit into the circle due to the hiccupping where now traffic had filled what was once empty roadway. Waited while braking/stopped, then she was fine and worked normally. Is this the same problem you had? It was indeed a very dangerous situation.

Was not going to say anything as she never did it again, yet if this ever does happen again and cause an accident I now have a record of this situation online for public record. Let us know what Vag-Com/vcds says. Just had the four year major done on her before picking her up, so she has been factory checked/serviced as of 2k miles/60 days before this situation. Again, it never happened again and was indeed very strange. Let us know what you find out. Thanks!

its worth to buy it and scan yourself with your laptop just to give you an idea of whats going on.

rough idle

had the same trouble, exactly as you say.
turned out to be a leak in the vacuum line, a small tube behind the engine becomes heat effected and fails.
the engine was removed and a new tube fitted as well as an updated mod in the form of a heat deflector.
hope this helps

You are correct Angelo. The motor needs to be removed to repair. I will live with it as it does not occur often.
