2006 Continental Flying Spur - Purplish around the windows

Dear all,

A great big hello! I've previously posted here before but I can't for the life of me find the user ID, email or the password so I've had to re register.

I currently own and drive daily a 2006 Continental Flying Spur and I noticed around the borders of every window on my car, it is purplish/greenish.

Not too noticeable previously as I had really dark tints but I recently took off the tint and the corners of the windows are all purplish and blurring the window. Seems to be spreading too.

Any ideas why or how to rectify this would be much appreciated!

Are you sure that's on the glass? That looks like mold on the trim panels possibly from a lack of sun light.

How's the weather around your area?

Hello.

From the outside, it looks like it's inside. From the inside, it looks like it's outside!

It's seems to be in between in and out.

In my area, it's extremely hot. 35-40 deg celcius day in day out.

And this car is parked in the sun everyday as it's not driven too much..

I believe the side glass is double-pane. It is possible your environment has affected the glue between the panes, thereby causing it to discolour.

All side windows are double glazed. I have on the driver side near the edge a small area a chemical reaction that darkened the area. Doubt you can fix it so apart from tints again you will need replacements.

My spur is doing the same exact thing. I just picked up the car so I haven't looked into what it could be yet.

Thanks for the reply everyone. I kinda thought this may be the case..

It looks neither in nor out and rather in between the glass leading me to believe that it would be impossible to fix.

Was hopefully nonetheless.. Haha.

Thanks once again for all the help and responses in advance

mines is also the same way on rear small windows. i believe its defective on 2006 spurs. Tinting will not resolve issue as it will show through.

Hi I have the same model Bentley with the same issue in all 8 side windows. Priced new ones from Bentley, horrendous cost, average £1250 + vat each drop down window and simular cost per quarter light glass. Just had all of mine replaced with new glass at a fraction of the cost. If u want info call me. Ian 07775512176
