Robin if you have children with her and you actually saw the kid coming out your safe and getting the real thing. I have always said I could spot the real "v" from a fake one. You know I don't trash/thrash mine as much as I used to.

BTW I meant tire sliding and drag racing queen. One word left out and you take a fit.

Don't fret it Mel....50mg of Viagra and you'll be back thrashing her again. Uh...scratch that...I see you mean the Bentley.

On a different note...I see that Michelin does not list a PS A/S3 21". I hate to put the Pirelli's back on with a <10K mi shelf life. The other options seem to be a Dunlop and a Continental...neither of which I have experience with save for "knobbies" on my motocross bikes back in the day.

What are you guys running on 21" option wheels???

Still loving the 19" Mich Super Sports. Vastly better than the Pirellis.

I had my testosterone checked and no need the vitamin V. Heck i'll be glad to get a little older and loose this raging beast inside.

Thought I would try and maybe help a little.

1. I have M SS on my E63 AMG and below 50 degrees the tires don't like the cold weather. They are awesome in the dry, quiet, comfortable etc.... the best performance tire out there. My question was for winter tires due to cold, and thought about the A/S 3's and just wondered if they would still hook up as well as the SS's.

2. I have Steppe's CGT this week doing a Paint Correction and coating for him. First, I must say within the first 5 min of driving this morning, I had a 30 something blonde, in a White Merc spending the whole time at a red light fixing her hair, lipstick, mascara etc..... then beating that car to death trying to keep up, , and then cutting a car off just to get around it to see who was driving the CGT. It was very entertaining. I just smiled.

BUT... back to the point, the CGT has a new set of A/S 3's and they are incredible. They are 19's, smooth, quiet and for the CGT hook up no problem. Not sure how they would do for rear wheel 500+ hp but for the CGT all wheel drive they are perfect IMO. Definitely a go to tire IMO.

Hope this helps, and dammit, now I might have to re-plan and scrap the DB9 and maybe the Merc just to move into the CGT. Wow, what a wonderful car and I look forward to getting the paint perfect.

I will do a full write up, showing what I am using, what was done, and what the finishing results are on Autogeek's forum and will post here for you guys, so you know what can be achieved with your cars, and how to maybe do it yourself also.

I am still grinning

Thanks SheriffDep and yeah the Mich SS are for 45F and over, 80F better still of course. Have driven on them at 30F and they are ok for sane, smooth driving yet not something I'd prefer if you want to dig down and 'drive'. Good to know the A/S 3 hookup in the cold. FYI it is a nice, <cough>warm<cough>, 25F here right now.

Can or Does the CGT even spin the tires for anyone or does it always bite since the AWD. Obviously its not my car so I won't try on purpose, but standing start floored the A/S 3's hook at 40 degrees. No spin and I didn't see the traction control light, but not sure if its disabled what would happen. Not gonna try it, on the off chance something could happen and I wouldn't want to hurt a perfect car.

I think also, snow, rain etc..... the A/S 3's would be night and day compared to the SS. So if they do spin or can spin some, the 1% of the time that would happen doesnt outweigh the 99% of the time where the tire is perfect for these cars. Hope that helps.

Well... I don't drive the B in that manner (standing start full throttle). Thus I just don't know. Have enjoyed fun drifting in the snow tho.

In that perspective, then the SS should not even be in question for those that are wondering. A good all -season performance tire is perfect. Which as you know the A/S 3's are. Then that should be the perfect tire, worth every penny for this car.

I would like to try the A/S 3's on my AMG but honestly worried they won't hook up under 30mph. Hate to try them, but using the rational in these past few posts, then the few percentage times I do stand on it, the little bit of spin might be negligible.

Well to give the rest of the story from Enjoythemusic, I on the other hand will full throttle any time i want to. The tires will not spin even with pipe and tune to produce 600+ hp. The four wheel drive and the traction control will not allow it. The car can do a four wheel drift but it has to be initiated more with a turn in impetus.

I think the A/S3 do give up some grip to the SS but the versatility they provide gives an overall advantage. After you slide the car around for a while you begin to understand it is not a race car and enjoy it more for its GT ride and road status. Men and women alike drool for this thing.

Awesome info Dr.D!

For me, straight ahead top speed and launching is boring. What 'gets me off' is how well a car can handle and grip during the twisties. Not AutoX, yet normal twisties. More like Watkins Glenn International than Lime Rock Park or NHMS. Also, usable power during daily drives such as when you need to pass that Volvo, which has the perpetual left turn blinker on. Then it is 100% throttle and... bye-bye Volvo

PS: Dr. D, turn off traction control and head for the snow-covered big open parking lot

Now that I have all seasons on i might just do it. My fear is getting to the lot. Back to the issue of traction and cold tires like the SS or Pirelli. The take off would not worry me half as much as the braking distance. With the antilock brake system the car could go on for ever and ever barely slowing down till you hit the what ever was in front of you.

In the slick grass and mud I had the F250 rolling at a good clip on the farm the other day. Brakes on and nothing happening.

Ugh, that reminds me of the more than a few times the F250 began sliding backwards down an icy hill that was the last section of our driveway at the mountaintop mansion. The 2008 F250 ABS system hates going backwards, trust me.

Dr. and Enjoy,

I am absolutely enjoying the Steppe's car. It drives like a larger car than the (Merc E class) but is still nimble. I really find it comfortable and the power is just a push away. But I like the power how it is applied so smooth. My AMG its just violent power and you can tell from 1500rpm its there.

I am personally almost sold on one, but still really want a DB9 to put in the garage at some point. Cant do both.

HELP!!!!!! Trying to help Steppe figure out some things, the back rest light keeps beeping at me and won't stop. I have searched it, but found little on it. Is there anyway of unplugging and re-pluggin the sensor in? Or could there be a wire pulled? Just want or would like to know where to look. If you two could help me out, I would like to get this sorted out before handing the car back to Steppe. I got about a 98% correction out of the paint and am in the process of glass coating it now.
