Boot/Trunk release via badge.

My 04 GT has keyless entry but the boot/trunk has to be opened via the remote fob or the switch on the door.
I cannot open it by touching the Bentley badge. Is this normal or do I have a fault? Reading IETIS makes me think the badge should work.

Les.

i believe the badge should work, it is a rubber pressure pad. what about if you press a little harder or at different parts of the B.

I know this is obvious but, do you have the key with you when you try pushing the B logo? If the key is absent or in the ignition, pressing on the B logo won't work.

Hi guys.

Yes, I have the key and have tried all parts of the badge.
I obviously have a problem then. Something else on the to do list.

Fuse #42 in the Luggage Compartment fuseboard is for 'Rear body (CM) boot release motor' but there isn't one listed specifically for the release button. An interesting design decision to put the boot lid release fuse in the boot!

My release button does work but not as I was expecting. If there is any actual movement as it's pressed, then it's imperceptible.

if I'm side way it won't work!

HI ALL,
tuck the panel off in the boot, looped the two wires and bingo the boot opened
so has some one ever tuck one apart to see how they work.

I reckon they just wear out. I had mine changed when it was serviced.
Not straight forward either. The new ones are slightly different resulting in the boot button opening having to be enlarged a little.

Sorry WES77Y, I didn't see your kind offer before getting it fixed.
