2005 cgt oil change procedure

Hello all. It's time for first oil change since ownership, on my 2005 CGT, which I will attempt myself (sigh). Can someone please answer a few questions for me? Is there a jacking point on the front end, where I can place my hydraulic floor jack? Is there any tips or tricks I should know about? I did read that the car should be placed in Jack Mode. Any help on this procedure would be greatly appreciated. Thank you guys.

This is to help anyone else with safely jacking up their CGT.

I cut 2-6" (2"x6") covered them with a piece of rubber lining (old leaking dock fender, for you boating guys). I put the car at the highest suspension level, then jack mode. Next, lined up the blocks at the jack points listed in the owners manual and carefully used my floor jack. Once at desired height, I put my jack stand as close as possible to jack (on the block of course), then release the jack. NO indentations, NO damages and was able to change the oil easily. DONT FORGET TO PUT THE CAR IN JACK MODE.

best way to change oil is driving up to a ramp. it is safer and faster.

ramps are $45 btw.

I thought of doing that, but when I looked up the front axle weight, it was around 3,600lbs. Which ramp can handled that weight?
I looked at race ramps RR-XT and even those are only rated at
3000lbs. Thanks.

By the way Walmart sells ramps for larger cars and trucks with a 12,000 lb limit for $45.

How to change oil and filter on Bentley Continental - YouTube
Perhaps this should be moved to the DIY thread. By the way, where is the front belly pan in the video? I don't see it being removed and replaced. Also, the tech seems to really crank on that oil filter when re-installing it. He could crush the sealing ring and cause leaks. I also note that he closes the hood by pressing on the center of the cowl. Repeated closing will dent the cowl. You need to press on the outer corners when closing.

Did you miss the dirt on that engine. LOL. Actually I just did my oil change and its pretty easy. Get the ramps from Walmart aka Wally world, They hold up to 12,000 lbs. Rise the car up on the suspension before you get on the ramp for extra room. Yes i did have to take of a bunch of screws to get the plastic belly cover off. The oil container (filter goes in) is plastic and requires a 36 mm socket/ wrench. The oil bolt is on the drivers side 19 mm. I replaced my bolt. I also got the 3 bolts that hold the belly pain to the front torsion bar. Oh and make sure you have a oil container that can hold 13 quarts, yes I found that at Walmart as well. Once everything is put back on - bolt & oil filter-, then start pouring your oil. I bought (3) 5 gallon jugs of Mobil 1 0W40 at my local, you guessed it Walmart. I also replaced the oil cap's gasket as well. By the way all the other parts cam from a Bentley dealer.
