CGT cabin air filter replacement

Is there a trick to removing the cabin air filters under the hood? I must be missing something very simple.
Thanks.

I expected some finesse way to do it, turns out you are right, just brute force.
Thanks for the reply.

on the arnage lift the hood and at each corner next to windscreen , the bulkhead in some countries you will see two phillips screws, those undone and you can lift the cabin filters out.

Are the 2008 GT Speed engine air filters and cabin air filters Bentley only parts or are the available aftermarket, VW or Audi?

Cabin filters are available on eBay for around $75. Just pull off the plastic frame that holds the filters and swap 'em out

Thanks for the tip. Pulled mine out and banged them on the ground. They seem quite clean. Did the same with the engine air filters and got enough dust to indicate it was time to clean them. I noticed they have a VW emblem and part number on them. Did manage to lose one short torx screw in the process.

Reply to an old post -- thanks again for tips on automatic transmission. Regarding cabin filters on 2006 GT, where are they?

Also, can't find info on engine air filter location and how to change.

Cabin air filters are on the underside of the hood/bonnet. Gray pleated. One on each side. They are held in place by plastic frames.

Engine air filters are under the covers on both sides of the engine. You need to remove the covers with torx screwdriver. Lift out the yellow filters and replace. Very simple.

You can hold the filter up to the sunlight to judge if they are plugging. You should be able to see the sunlight through the filter when clean.

Just for info, the air cleaner lids are the ones with 6.0 Litre and Twin Turbo logos on them.

Any idea what number Torx screwdriver needed to remove filter lids/covers. Don't have one and need to buy. The 8 in one sets get poor reviews for quality and I'd rather buy one high quality one. Sorry to get so far into the weeds on this one. I appreciate all the insight and clarifications. I could just go to the dealer but they would automatically replace rather than inspect to see if really need replacing.

the cabin air filters have active charcoal in them. That 'wears out' in about one year's time. If you dont like outside-airsmell getting trough in the interior, you might want to swap them regularly with new ones.
Myself , i dont care and use them as long as they remain dust-free.
