Bentley wing mirrors

HI,
can someone tell me how to remove the underside of the wing mirrors as mine
have gone green over time and needs a good clean (GT 2004), the drives seat has a problem now, when it's reclined forward ie let someone in the back it will
not stay forward.
thanks joc

Sorry, I can't tell you how to do it but I know it's doable since they removed them from my car, polished them and replaced the seal.
costed me €120 so can't be a big job.

You mean the wing mirror turn signal? Adjust mirror so its furthest looking into car then with a plastic tool prise mirror off at outer edge. Mirror is held into place by little plastic tabs. Unplug mirror heater wiring and signal housing is secured by two screws I recall. Mirror just pops back into motor with a gentle press. J

You can remove them using method I mentioned.

I don't think the housing can be separated as I only recall bulb hole where you could clean lens with a cotton bud or similar object.

How on earth did you manage to get them that clean. I tried a while ago and had limited success. I have now decided to have them tinted a little to hide the mucky look.

I don't know how he did it, but my detailer told me that to clean the headlights he uses some swirl removal compound applied with 1000 sand paper and alcohol and finally wax.
great job JOC44.

No. The green gunge is inside the lamp housing and very difficult to get at.
Lets hope we find out the secret.

HI ALL,
bleach, warm water,a piece wire and a power washer.
you must remove the LED's first and leave soak for as long as possible.
the n/s one is 5/6 times as bad so going to leave it soak over night, make a very very small loop in the wire around a very small piece of cloth to stop it scratching the inside,
a lot of patience and job done.

Hi.

Thanks for the info on the light cleaning.

With regard to the seat problem, I suspect it is wear and tear on the part that holds the seatback forward.
