Hi.

One possibility I can think of is the electric vacuum pump. It is located inside of the front left wheel inner arch, towards the door. If you open the door and try the brakes it should be more apparent. The get noisy with age.
However, if that is the cause and it happens every time you hit the brakes, you might have a leaking vacuum pipe.

Good luck with it.

Les.

...hello driver 05...I am doing research on vacuum pump activating when brakes applied...was yours caused by a vacuum leak...some have that issue without discoverable leak...any information you can provide will be appreciated...JimB
