Hi Mike.

Not had that letter myself. Maybe it will be in the post soon.
Pity they didn't do that with the air vacuum hose problem.

Hi Les

Hope your well. I wouldnt mind but I picked my GT up from Ivor this morning after paying 65 quid for a new power boot button to come home and find the letter, just my luck!

Finally after a new intercooler weve got it running perfect again so im really hoping on a year of trouble free motoring now as iv spent around 7k this year in maintainence and servicing.

Strange of them finally admitting a power boot problem now after our models approaching 13 years old dont you think?

Bizarre. I had my boot button changed a couple of years ago too.
I wonder if they will give me a refund.

Les.

Hi guys,

What model years are included of this recall? Is this a worldwide recall or just UK only?

I am not sure on this, but I do not believe this is in reference to power lifting of the boot from 2006 on, as the letter states "failure to latch" I believe it refers to the latch system, which yes you do have, when you touch the "B" on the boot lid it activates the electric powered latch system, I know first hand that when the lift motor fails to lift, it has never failed to latch on my Audi A8L W12, I will be adding power lift to my GT build.

Ok I see.

Does anyone know if they have issued a recall for North American market?

Ok thanks Steven.

@Johnny, how difficult is the power trunk mod and how much $$$?

Is it DIYable?

Mike - Thanks for pointing this out - much appreciated. Haven't received a letter - might have missed this, and do have a little "slack" in the power boot mechanism..

I posted a question about the lid not completely closing flush with the top of the quarter on the passenger side which sometime prevents the boot from latching so you need to help it along. No one ever responded to that post. This recall could possibly address my issue. Lets hope this is a global recall for all problems related to the boot. T.

Hi guys sorry for the late reply, iv been busy moving house last few weeks.

Just to update I did get in to Bentley Manchester and the issue is as bentley_toy describes failing to latch on closing.

A quick software update took about 20 minutes. I haven't noticed any difference as I didnt have any latching issues before hand.

There IS a service action in the US now which includes and adjustment and a software update, regarding this issue.
