....upon reflection...I may have mixed up my Corvettes...have had half dozen...back in 1972 or 1973 I wanted a new Corvette but without any bells/whistles...driving down Western Ave in Los Angeles I saw a truck load of Corvettes being delivered...Bought one right off truck for $4,800...no air conditioning, no electric windows...I think it had radio...that's where the $4,800 price came from...Now I'm not sure what the price was on the 1954 White one was...probably around $3,800 like you say...main reason I didn't get it was the lack of back seat...in those days that's where major business transacted...JimB
