opinion: bentley to maserati

i currently have an low mileage 05 bentley mulliner gt and was considering a 2011 lower mileage maserati quattroporte...any opinions in regards to maserati's reliability/cost of service compared to bentley
...no issues with the bentley...is it worth it to switch out or keep the bentley..i know there totally different types of cars

thanks in advance

I have a bentley and a maserati quattroporte.
look at this thread:
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ttroporte.html

now that I have the bentley for nearly 2 years I confirm that the maintenance costs on the CGT are higher than the maintenance costs of the Maserati.
I have no experience with the post 2011 models.

ULSTRUP, how much has the Maser cost annually/miles? Have been looking to trade/sell the GTC due to age and continual operating costs.

Hi Steven,
all in all the Maserati is 30/35% cheaper to maintain than the CGT.

I have had no problem with the car except standard maintenance.
if you buy one don't forget to check carefully:

- the SYHOOK suspension (it's +/- 1000€ a piece)
-be sure it has the ZF gearbox and NOT the DUOSELECT.

Thanks, all help is ALWAYS appreciated. My local friend is a high-end repo guy and he is getting many Maserati cars so might be able to get a good deal if i go that way. Thanks again.

Im thinking the Bentley is maybe a bit more to maintain compared to a Maserati. Im curious whats making you leaning towards swapping out of Bentley?

I ran a Bentley Arnage T and a Maserati QP for a couple of years. THe QP was a "duo select" which took a bit of mastering. They eat clutches every 15000 miles at about £1700 apiece. The depreciation however was greater on the QP. so I kept the Arnage. You need to get a QP with a conventional auto box and avoid the diesels which are rapidly becoming unacceptable.

Both cars are unacceptable in normal terms imho. Thats been the result of my research and why i choose a BMW.

Get a Granturismo S and have some fun! Bentley service costs are definitely more than a Maserati.

@jim2231
my bentley specialist swears by them...the yokohamas made for bgt wears out too fast...lasted only 7k miles...got about 20k miles with 5k rotations on the sumitomos...ride is quiet and smooth...on my 2nd set...still have the gt...still looking around for other options since it is my 3rd car & only has 21k miles on it
