VAS Diagnostic tool help please
VAS Diagnostic tool help please
So, ive had the VAS 5054A for 3 years now and still cant find how to check the boost levels.
Ive had my car modded and is supposedly producing 700 bhp . The workshop said to check that Bentley haven't uploaded updates to the ECU use my VAS from time to time and check the boost level hasn't changed from their setting. Also its important imo to check the boost level to determine that there aren't any minor boost leaks or just general degradation of the max boost pressure.
Can anyone walk me though the procedure please as I cant find any reference to boost levels at all in the VAS 5054A
All help is greatly appreciated.
Frank.

I'm not sure any one will know on here?? I have even scrutinised the IETIS system and there is no mention of checking the turbo pressures
perhaps you cant check turbo/manifold/inlet/charge pressure

I know this first info will not help you with the VAS 5054A, but if you have or know someone with the Ross-Tech VCDS then you may be in luck, in the Ross-Tech program there is a measuring block section, "GROUP 115" is for the "CHARGE PRESSURE" as can be seen in the pictures, I also saw some info for the VAS 5054A that leads me to believe that the info you seek may be in freeze frame of Engine 1, 2, or 3 on the 5054, be back with more soon.

This is a fault code from a Ross-Tech scan found online showing BAR readings.

Thanks for your time and help
Next question. Hopefullt Bentley Tech can help
In the picture above it says Boost Presure Control pt 6 of 6 .
There are also other eg part 1 of 6 , 2 of 6 3 of 6 ........etc etc
What are all the parts for.
Can I get multiple test information on the one screen ie lambda, IET's, Boost, ignition angle etc.???

Okay now you've done it.....

You confused me with the "It's not for VAS5054A" comment, because I specifically searched the videos for VAS5054A and reading charge pressure, and as I was looking at a package deal of two 5052's on Ebay (which I passed on) but then researched the 5054A which also include Bentley and Lambo, and I see many that are just the $70-$100+ units that plug into the OBD port with software you would load on a laptop, not the big handheld touchscreen computer like the 5052, then I found 2 Toughbook units, one having VAS-PC as you do, and the other showing ODIS as in the video I posted, they both come with the VAS 5054A OBD plug in module, SO it is a good thing for me that you posted your pics showing the "VAS-PC", as I have now found the answer as to why you thought the video (ODIS Software) was not for 5054A, and here is what I have come up with.
" What're the difference among VAS-PC, ODIS-E and ODIS-S software for VAG group Diagnosis.
VAS-PC
Odis-E
Odis-S
Which application is used for what ?
Answer:
VAS-PC: It's the "old" official diagnostic tool from volkswagen which was discontinued some years ago. It's built up pretty simple, but can manage all the diagnostic services that are supposed to be used by repair shops.
ODIS-S: It's the "new" official diagnostic tool. It's java based and is able to do also any diagnostic service supposed to be done in repair shops. Most of them of course online. And it also features guided reps (so did VAS PC).
ODIS-E: Is the engineering version of ODIS. It features direct access to the platform projects, direct access to the ecus, and direct access to its diagnostic functions. If you exactly know what you are doing this is best solution. Because ODIS-S is complicated if you simply want to go straight to a diagnostic service. As the title sais it is usually only available and used for engineering purposes. But that does not mean the tool is more powerful than ODIS-S: it does not bypass any ecu functions or contains security codes or sth. Only benefit is probably that you can see some functions and codings with text. It's just a better usibilty and strictly access to diagnostic functions. "
So, thank you Sunnyside for the light bulb going on in my head, now back to your other post.
