Has anyone had one of these installed? If so how did you like it? I'm thinking of it but haven't heard any real users opinion on them, just all YouTube install videos.
So if you had it installed can you answer a few questions please?

With over 20 years of experience in the industry, this is our opinion on the topic.

Experience is the Key
One of the most common mistake consumers make when researching this topic is doing a "brand specific" search. Truth of the matter is there are many brands of film in the industry, all of which will provide great paint protection. What's more important though, is the installation company that is performing the installation. The industry is saturated with new installation companies by the day, many of which tout experience they don't really have. A great film in the hands of a novice can make the outcome horrible, and in many cases, cause paint damage. We always suggest to customers to: 1) get plenty of references as you are doing now and more importantly 2) go see the work in person. This is the best determining factor as to whether their work meets your standard. An experienced company will be able to tell you exactly how each panels will be wrapped and how that compares to the competition, if there are any.


Precut vs. Custom
Pre-cut kits in general do give decent protection and coverage. The problem with Pre-cut kits or "custom pre-cut" kits are they have more visible seams and joining pieces. An experienced Custom installed film will provide more wrapped surfaces and preferably done with one piece of film when possible. The downfall for many installation companies though, is that most installers are not properly trained in custom installation. This can result in a very bad installation and possibly paint damage. Not all 'pre-cut" or "custom" installations are equal. So to better clarity this answer, experience is still the key.


Film Differences
In terms of film, the main difference between each brand is the optical clarity each film has. Certain films such as Xpel and 3m has a lot of "Orange Peel" texture, which can detract from the overall appearance of the paint, if you are picky about that. Films such as ClearGuard Nano and Suntek have better gloss and clarity, with Suntek being a thinner film. Every installation company will have their own preferred film to use based on their preference for the brand name or how easy the film is to install.

I think you provided a thorough answer to TeamJones1962's question. I would just ask which 3M film you are citing. 3M recently introduced a new film and it really doesn't have the traditional orange peel. I have seen it side-by-side to SunTek and would say that the it's just as clear, if not clearer. I'm not familiar with your other brand, ClearGuard Nano, though I'm sure it's a nice film.
