Intermittent loss of bass & loud pops and bangs when playing music

I've had an issue with the audio where sometimes when playing the radio I get loud pops and bangs through the speakers. It sounds like it comes from the door speaker. There was also a period of time where the bass was also lost but that has now seem to be OK. Would this be potentially a speaker that needs replacing in the door? Any other potential issues?
Sound system otherwise is great.

Hello ... Find out if it is one of the door speakers or the rear by fading it to the front then right & left and then fading it to the rear right & left, see how the sound is, don't really know what you mean by load bang & pops but try this first before dismantling door cards & rear side panels, are you losing bass on both doors or is this banging noise coming from all speakers or just the doors ...

That's a good idea. I do that when I get my car back from the garage. When I'm driving I feel that its coming from the driver's side door however that could just be being closer to that door. I'll have to check the other side as well.
The loud bang is literally like something really loud and distorted. I'll try and take a sample next time I get it.
thanks for the info

Hi Shang once again I suffered this problem not long ago and I could put money on it being the connector on the back of the door speaker fallen off the back of the speaker and shorting out on the metal door frame pop the door card and check em out it's a very easy fix if this is your problem I lost all bass and had horrific pops n bangs keep us posted

Thanks for the feedback. I'm really glad that this forum exists where other members have experienced some of the issues I have observed. I will have a look, I've never removed the door card but I'll find out how and take a look.
Thanks

Prise the door control switch out back edge first unplug there's two hex screws behind that .then where door release handle is there is a small plastic panel inbehind panel.pick that out with a small screwdriver or pick remove the screw behind that .check under door there is two more screws once theyre off I think that is.get wedge or I just pulled from the bottom and popped the clips holding the door card on unplug the main umbilical to the door motor that should be it unscrew speaker and you can pull it from door and check the connections if the connector is flapping about glue it to the back of the speaker

Update :
I followed the instructions and managed to remove the door card. I found that there was some water residue which might have caused some of the issues. I replaced the loud bass speaker 3W0035411F with a new one from the dealer and it solved the issue.
Thanks to everyone for helping!

Hi Shangatic ... Yes water get into the inner part of the door panel, when I removed my door card I also removed the inner skin & fixed a sheet of heavy duty shrink rap, that way no water that comes down the glass enters the speaker side & runs out the bottom, glad you sorted the problem ...
