Unit Behind Interior Rearview Mirror?

This unit is not mentioned anywhere in the owner's manual.

What is it and what does it do?

Also, that white adhesive does not look correct.

Thanks.

Its the housing for the wipers sensor.

White adhesive - , perhaps the windscreen was replaced at some point and not reassembled correctly?

Ah, very good - thanks!

It seems to have two sensors - a double one on top and a single one in front. All for windshield wiper sending?

Do you have automatic headlights? That would be another possible sensor.

Also, I believe VAG cars have a sun sensor that turn up the AC fans when there is more sun/light.

On the Granturismo it's called a greenhouse sensor, I believe, although it's on the dash. So good shout

There is a separate sensor on the dash. Light sensor?

Randy V, that looks more like the sun/greenhouse sensor I'm familiar with.

Haven't driven the continental for a month or so, so don't remember what's there!
