Passenger Seat Belt Locks

The pax side seatbelt does not extend after first extending it.

Once in place it stays locked, only retracting but not allowing further extension.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Thanks.

They are designed to lock in a accident. Often overlooked by body shops after they acquire the car off the insurance Co .
Solution is replace the whole unit .
.Sun fades the exposed part hence brand new look is a tell tell that why they try not to immediately replace .
Realise it’s not want you want to hear .....sorry guys !

Sounds like the inertia reel mechanism is getting gummed up. Seen this on several cars. If you take it apart, carefully, clean it, you should be able to see how it's meant to work.

For god's sake though, be careful. I believe it has pre-tensioners. Had a very nasty fright with one of them once. Make sure your power is off (if it's electric) and no sudden shocks.

hi all, i have a 2010 Supersports and have the same issue. I believe the previous owner had an accident on the right front bumper. I called the dealer and quoted me 3500.00 to replace it. not sure if its by design.

Generally speaking, this is a sure sign the car has been in a substantial shunt
