2007 GTC Trunk lid locked

2007 GTC trunk lid is locked but the trunk lid is open...I have hit unlock from the door, I have hit unlock from the key fob...I have lowered the trunk and hit the "B"..the trunk lid raises but does not unlock! I have lowered the trunk lid and used an 11 m socket n the release and still nothing. Any ideas would be Greatly appreciated!

From what youre describing, the lock is engaged with the lid open, correct ? If so, it could simply require re calibrating by manually opening it all the way, then manually lowering it all the way to each end point. Good luck.

Hello @John R. Allen ,
I don't get what you did with the 11 mm socket...
But, do tell us which key-fob you have on you while try to pop the release, someone else was trying to get into their trunk while using the 2 button valet key-fob instead of the 3 button key-fob, once he approached the vehicle with the proper fob, the trunk opened right up.

Just a thought.

Johnny

Hi Johnny...There is a release on the convertible models, between the two seats in the ski pass through area, you put an 11 m socket in the hole and you ratchet down and that pops the lock and opens the trunk in case of a dead battery etc....Somehow my trunk while in the up position the lock locked and it does not open. I dis use the 3 button key fob. I did put a hook tool it the locking part of the latch and had my wife push the trunk release on the door and the key fob, and it still will not open.

I have tried that numerous times...and nothing! I think I will order a new latch.

Had this with 80,s car doors .
The latch is closed when the door is open so can’t engage when you close / slam it .
I used a screwdriver a big one to basically lever open the jaws .
So with this it’s electric thus pull the relevant fuse to cut its power before prying the jaw open .

As JH infers keep all fobs away out of range first then if it opens , remix the fuse and one by one re introduce the fobs within range .....incase ones stuck sending trunk lock signal ......go from there .

Of it opens and re locks again you cam eliminate the fobs .

I am using the Full key fob, not the valet. I have unplugged the power and tried prying on the latch, while having my wife hit the key fob and the door button...NOTHING!

@John R. Allen ,
Being that the trunk lid is open, what happens when you pull the trunk release lever on the inside of the trunk lid itself ?

That is a funny thing...I took the trunk/Deck Lid liner off and there is nothing connected to the handle...I can't find anything any where. So I played with the latch, there is a black lever and a plastic plunger...I played with the lever and the plunger...I hit the release button on the door and I heard an electrical activation...I hit the unlock from the key fob and the latch moved...I pushed the lid down and I again heard an electrical activation...so I pushed the trunk lid shut...it automatically would not pull itself closed. So the trunk lid locked...I thought great...I start the car and the lid lid light is in in the dash...I go to hit open button...and it is like the latch is in the locked position and when I hit unlock from the door switch or teh key fob, you hear it electrically but it does not unlatch and the left side front section of the lid starts to move up about 1" and nothing else....VERY FRUSTRATING! ANY Help would be greatly appreciated!!!
