Lost key/fob 2006 flying spur

All,

Wondering if I could get some help here. I seem to have misplaced one of the keys/fob to a 2006 Flying Spur. I have the second key. It works and all is well. My concern now is that someone may have found the key (likely fell out of my hand/pocket) and could potentially drive away with the car. I'd like to get a second key, but more importantly would like to rekey the car or do something that would disable or prevent the lost key from working. Is there a way to do this? I expect it will cost $$. My main issue now is protecting the car from possible theft.

R.

Thanks to all. Fortunately I found the fob/keys. Dropped between seats on another car.

Very, very relieved!! Did make me wonder how these keys/fobs are programmed. Will a lost, properly programmed key, always be able to open the door and start the car? Can the car be reprogrammed so only newly programmed fobs will work? I imagine keys are lost often enough, and wondering if there is a way to protect the car without having to change locks on doors, etc. Learned a lesson not to juggle too many keys and cars at the same time!!

This is a very good point. I've just contacted my local dealer here in Australia about the scenario and asked if my remaining key can be reprogrammed. "Yes indeed sir, it takes about 45 minutes and a charge of one hour labour." was his reply. He added that this will render the lost key useless.

Good to know hey.

Another basic option is to simply clip a small tracker key ring to your fob, available online for very little.

Thanks for the suggestion on adding a tracking chip to key ring. Will definitely follow up.

I received a brand new blank key for my '07 Bentley. How do I go about getting the FOB programmed to my car? I'd also need to get the actual key cut to my original. I live in Sweden but I'm open to sending it to a trusted source.
