Flying Spur Brake Vacuum Next Step

Hi Folks,

I have a 06' Spur with a vacuum issue. Common problem I know- with lots of previous threads. Those helped me get this far.
The brake vacuum pump only comes on when pressing the brake pedal, and off shortly after releasing. No other issues, lights, etc. Everything else operates normally.
I refurbished the pump behind the front driver wheel- replaced the pump, tank, and hose. No change- still runs (albeit a lot quieter).
When I removed the hose and bottle- there was still vacuum from the tank to the hose running back into the engine bay. I think this is probably a good sign- that is to say that the system was holding vacuum.
My question is- what to check next? If the system is holding some vacuum- where is the next logical place to look for a leak?
Of course the engine or steering rack drop is my last resort, but those taking that step seem to have other problems I'm not having.

Any ideas or threads I missed that could help?
Also- all new parts to rebuild... less than $200. Let me know if you want to know where I got them.

Everything works as it should & you're trying to fix the pump noise? Maybe the noise is expected?

also, i'm not sure but i don't think the Spurs require an engine out to fix the vacuum issue (unrelated to brakes), a steering rack move probably.

That would be correct @LarrysFlyingSpur ,
The Flying Spur never required an engine out procedure (unless at the dealership) because it never had the vacuum lines on top of the transmission, only along the firewall, so a rack out job.

I'm fairly sure the pump should not run every time you press the brake. I owned a 2007 for several years- never did that. However- good to know that the Flying Spur does not need the engine drop if I do need the vacuum lines replaced. That makes the worst case scenario a lot more paletable.
