Hard Shift to 2nd Gear

Hey Guys,
Anyone else have a particularly hard shift from 1st to 2nd? My 2012 GT really slams into 2nd, especially when it is still cold. Once it is properly warmed up it is a little less noticeable, but nowhere near as smooth as the trasition to 3 through 6. There is no lag between 1st and 2nd, it just shifts hard. The odd thing is I really baby the car until it gets completely warmed up, but 1st to 2nd is always much harder than the rest of the gears. Does this indicate a problem or is it just a feature of these cars?
Thanks

I don't think it is common. I would get it looked at by a Bentley transmission expert if it doesn't have any codes or other clues/problems.

FWIW (probably very little) my Maserati with the same 6HP box did this when cold. Never seemed to do it any harm and no one could find anything wrong, but might well be worth getting it checked by a pro

I have successfully used this magic stuff on my wife Discovery with the same 6HP transmission, fixed the torque convertor lock up shudder, and made all the changes a lot smoother. Land Rover forums swear by it. I have not needed it in my GT, but might be worth a try.since it is quite cheap.

Thank you, appreciate the info. But how do you get the additive in?
