Cost to replace TPMS Sensors 06 Bentley
Cost to replace TPMS Sensors 06 Bentley
The Bentley dealer says $1600 US dollars to replace the TMPS sensors and battery. $1200 in parts and $400 to program the sensors
That sounds crazy expensive even for a Bentley. Is there an alternative. I do not want to pull the fuse or suppress the alert codes.
I think $500 US dollars would be crazy expensive but reasonable for a Bentley. PS I'm getting the tires changed and ballanced at the same time so its not like its any extra work to get the sensor installed.
Any thoughts?

Agreed. Bentley doesnt make TPMS sensors....they just put them in a magic box and add a zero to the price
Any good tire shop can swap them out.

Can the tire shop do the adaptation? How about like a Costco?
I've ordered the set of 4 from tpms.com and it comes with valve stems too. Everything needed for $140, so yeah, crazy. any tire place can likely put these on for $100 (25 a tire)
For 1st gen cars, I don't believe you have to do anything to reprogram.
Not sure of the other years.

Hello @bartcollida ,
Your statement is a little confusing, as you mention TPMS sensors and Battery in the same sentence, so, which battery are you referring to, the house battery, or the starter battery ?
I ask this because, if the dealership told you that you need TPMS sensors and batteries for each wheel, that would be incorrect, as the batteries are built into each sensor, as they are one in the same.
As far as the price of the sensors, they cost $170.00 (×4 =$680) at the dealership, programming should be a one hour rate, or a courtesy NC, $400.00 to program them is outrageously absurd to say the least, and now as I write this I realize that you did not mention any labor costs for installation of said battery... so please clarify.
I myself like Sam08861 have recently purchased the set of 4 TPMS sensors from TPMS.com, each for my Bentley, my Audi A8L W12, and my neighbors Mercedes S63, with the total cost for the Bentley GT being $140.00, the sensors from TPMS.com come pre-programmed, I just installed, and drove, eventually all displayed, although that S63 took a few rt 78 trips to register 😀 👍🏻.
For anyone reading this, for the 2005 GT, you must pick the correct sensors, as 05 is a split year for design.

Thanks for the responses.
I don't have the time right now to hunt around for a different solution, so I'll just let the Bentley dealer stick it to me
The tire shop down the street said they "should be able to put the sensors" no problem for $680.
But then I need to pick the car up at the Bentley deal and drive it over to the tire shop. In the end it was too much trouble for me. Lucky for me I have cash to burn.

Yes, the wheels must be removed from the vehicle and placed on the tire machine, one does not have the totally dismount the tire from the wheel, but must brake the bead on the outer side of the wheel to access the sensor for replacement.
The sensors look like this.

Recently bought a 2012 spur speed. The Tpms
sensors are dead.
Called tpms.com they said I could buy sensors but Bentley dealer needs to program them to work and get light off.
Dealership wanted $1300 if I buy the sensors direct from dealer.
On a 2012 is this true that the dealer needs to reprogram them?
sensors are dead.

I am not sure why tpms.com would say that when their site states that the 2012 Bentley sensors are "pre-programmed", maybe he meant to clear the fault, which you could do if you have Ross-Tech VCDS, not sure on the 2012, but with my 2010 setup, I believe I just drove, or did some reset in the Infotainment head unit settings, not sure at the moment.
