Battery trickle charger

Hello, just purchased a supersports and I wonder what the general rule is on trickle charging is.

It has done 24,000 miles, think its been garaged, its a 2011 model and there is a connection in the boot I think.

I think there may be two batteries - is it wise to change them both?

Just connect the trickle charger to the connector. Let the car sort it out

I have a 12v extension lead. The C-TEK lives in the garage and the 12v lead goes into the boot. It's perfectly happy and weatherproof if the boot is shut on the (thin) 12v cable.

This, of course, assumes you have power somewhere. If you don't, this is going to be a royal PITA for you

Thank you, yes I have power so I may well try that.

Where do you have your cable exit from the boot?

Just about half way between the lower left corner and the locking mechanism. Did exactly the same thing on my Maserati. Worked absolutely fine.

Although you might want to invest in one of these....

I mean what sort of idiot would forget to disconnect the C-TEK from his Maserati?

And *really* what sort of idiot would do it more than once? The same sort that was flagged down to be told there was a cable hanging from his boot, do you think?
