2005 Continental GT Steering Wheel Swap Options???

Happy New Year! This post may be a bit 'controversial' and 'offbeat' but I need some help.

I LOVE the steering wheel in the 2018+ Continental GT, I HATE both the earlier iterations. IMO, the four spoke Gen1 steering wheel in the '05 is very dated, reminiscent of a late 80s / early 90s Mercedes W126. While the three spoke Gen2 steering wheel is a bit of an improvement, I'm not a fan of this one either.

Which leads me to.. what, if any, PLUG AND PLAY options ARE there for a steering wheel swap? I understand that the 18+ steering wheel CAN'T be swapped onto the '05. But is there anything "In the family" from Audi or VW that would work? More specifically, I'm wondering if since the '05 uses a 4-spoke Phaeton/Touareg steering wheel, would it be possible to swap

*'04 to '10 Audi A8?
*'11 to '18 Audi A8?
*Other ideas? "11-18 Golf / GTI/ R ?

I'm tempted to try buying a used Audi A8 unit on eBay, they are inexpensive.. But thought I'd lean on the collective wisdom of the crowd here before I do.

Not looking to stir the pot, just my opinion / taste on what might look better in the cockpit. Thanks in advance for your input!

You may have real problems selling your car if you do all these modifications.

My Phaeton has the soft-close doors. Meh.

LInk for my story

You can look at my post installing 3 spoke, there are all parts in this system, so, basicly you can use any wheel mechanically compatible and working with that parts (8E0953541E and 7L6953549L or (7L6953549J 7L6953549G))

Thanks for the reply. I'd just swap back the original stuff if / when I sell

Thanks for the reply. So you are saying I can use the Audi A8 which is mechanically compatible... and then I need the same parts as you add when you install the Bentley 3 spoke?

No, i've told you partt numbers that also can be installed on bentley, and these part where installed on other VAG cars. so, when you look at stering wheel you shoul look not only mechanic compatibility but also are thhis parts installed on audi. dorry for my eng. Again. if wheel is used on cars with this parts you can use it on bentley.

for 8E0953541E - Audi A4 [B6] 2000-2004, Audi A8 [4E] 2002-2010, Porsche Cayenne 2003-2010, VW Phaeton 2002-2016, VW Touareg 2002-2010
for 7L6953549L VW Volkswagen Touareg Audi A4 B6 Quattro 1.8 T A8 S8
So, if moutning is thr same, you can try, But all info given is just theory that i tried from touareg. to have heated wheel)

But, there can be some issue with llast letter compatubility and one more thing ) when i used this parts from touareg i had to transplantate sticks and click mechanism. you will see difference, in most cases in is simple to reassamble. and parts are as cheap as ****. so you can try.

Oh, on more thing, logo on airbag is really hard to change. crap.

Another option is to find the folks who produce complete bespoke wheels, and use the original electronic / parts to fit into mechanical part.

Hey OP, please tell us you pulled the trigger on this? I think the A8 idea with a custom emblem is inspired!
