Question Door soft close, gas door, and security blinker NOT WORKING

Hi-

I had to get a new bumper put on my 2009 Bentley Flying Spur Speed and the accessory battery died there in the lot after it was done. Luckily the driver door was still open and I was able to start it and drive it home and plug in the CTEK charger to fully charge the accessory battery. However, even after full charge on the accessory battery, the soft close on the driver door does not work. On further inspection, the security blinker and gas door button on the door also didn't function. Interestingly enough, the door locks work and the window buttons work, even the trunk button works. Initially I checked the fuses and all of them under the steering wheel check out with my multi-meter.

I am stumped now and don't know how to get this functioning again. Please help!

Thanks,

Jb

Just to clarify, the other three doors work as expected. It is just the driver's door that is malfunctioning like this.

Please reply with thoughts and possible solutions.

Hello @jerryjatt ,
Welcome to 6speedonline !

As far as your issues, do you have the Ross-Tech VCDS scan tool, as a scan is the best way to diagnose the problem, as sometimes when fault codes are stored, the fault will remain until it is cleared.

So I used the scanner and code P0688 was stored in module $07EA. I believe it is ECM/PCM Power Relay Sense Circuit/Open.

How do I correct this?

Thanks,

@jerryjatt ,
What scanning tool are you using, as it appears that you are using a generic scanner, the "$07EA" makes no sense as the a module, as 07 is the Infotainment head unit, and P0688 is a vag engine code, and has nothing to do with your door issues.

Just to note, most generic scanners only give engine fault codes, not the body fault codes you are inquiring about.

To work on your Bentley, you should have the Ross-Tech, or ODIS VAS 5054, the ODIS is much more expensive and has a steeper learning curve.
