2004 GT Refrigerant Pressure temperature sensor replacement question.

I have to replace the refrigerant pressure temperature sensor replacement sensor on my 2004 GT. Does any one know if this screws into a Schrader valve or do i need to have the refrigerant evacuated first?

Thanks, Jason

Jason,

The pressure sensors (2) and the temperature sensor for the AC system are two different sensors.

For the pressure sensor removal of the refrigerant is required. There is a low pressure and high pressure sensor.

Please elaborate why it is necessary to change the sensors.
Thx.

I only have hot air blowing when i turn on the A/C. I did a scan and this is what I am getting:

00256 - A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor (G395)
010 - Open or Short to Plus - Intermittent

It is the pressure sensor located next to the compressor as far as I can tell using IETIS. This is what it looks like:

Thanks,
Jason

Could be the sensor or wiring or low refrigerant.

Before changing the sensor find a qualified automotive AC shop. The process of pressure testing on the Bentley isn't any different than any other car. They can use a sniffer to look for leaks and evacuate and pressure test the system. You may be losing refrigerant and throwing a false code. This needs to be verified before spending unnecessary time and money. The fault code is intermittent.

Yes the system will need evacuation for replacement of the sensor.

It’s the control valve , the hot / cold blender tap in the scuttle .It’s lost its connection or broken .When it fails it defaults to hot for the demist in cold climate countries as a safety feature so the cold ( fully functioning and gassed up ) AC is swamped with hot air giving the impression the AC is not working .

Is this what you are talking about?

I just replaced this heater core control valve as my old one was leaking? This was located behind the engine near the ecms.
